I have been taking my two children here for over a year and I have absolutely hated the experience. I never realised how much more empathetic my previous pediatrician was until we started getting such an attitude from the staff at Kids First. My oldest son was on a vaccination schedule that my previous doctor and I discussed. She listened to my opinions and suggested her own and told my why she believed in her suggestions. When we moved here, the whole staff of Kids First pretty much freaked out at me and made many implications about my parenting for not adhering to a schedule that they preferred. There was no talking about it and telling me why they insist on the incredible amount of added vaccinations. I just got eye rolling, huffing and trying to rush me into a decision. Now, with my second son, I was told at my last appointment which included a measles shot, that I had to schedule an appointment within 30 days to get a second shot that was similar. They made it sound very urgent, so I made sure to call and schedule an appointment. Not only does the woman huff on the phone and tell me that I wasn't told that and that she doesn't even know what I'm talking about (very rude), they also don't even have an appointment for another 3 months. I'm tired of their condescending attitudes and inconsistant rules. If trying to run a business, it is not wise to treat clients/patients like idiots just because you don't agree with something. the proffessional thing to do is to inform and offer your opinions in the hope to convince or educate. This tells me a lot about how their business is run and how close-minded they are. I'm a consumer and I am certainly choosing to take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't suggest this practice to anyone who actually wants a part in and an understanding of their child's health.
Pros: CHOP, online children's profiles
Cons: attitude, lack of options
