like what the other reviews were. they 6/11/2012

like what the other reviews were. they should not take on new clients. waited up to two hours in a room with a one year old and a five year old. now you tell me how i survived that? i walked out. no one even questioned me. im totally transferring to another practice. more

waits are way too long 5/26/2011

routinely have to wait 1+ hours to see the dr once you arrive. tried first appt of the day and still waited 45 min to get into the waiting room while the dr had coffee and chatted. clinically i have no major issues, but with 3 small kids i can;t spend my life waiting in there. more

great 4/12/2010

I dont have any other pediatrician to compare this group of docs with because all 3 of my kids have been going here since birth. I did not choose this group, but was assigned to these doctors because i did not do my doctor shopping homework while pregnant. They were on staff at St. Mary's where i delivered and that is why they became my kids' pediatricians. Anyway, Dr. Sasson (Newtown Pediatrician) is an absolute doll and more importantly, the kids adore him. He is also very knowledgeable and is very active in community education. The only problem is i think there are way too many patients at that practice which causes big problems with the front desk staff and the whole process of actually getting an appointment. If your appointment isnt just a well checkup made months in advance, good luck getting your sick child seen! After 10 years,i'm finally getting out of there! Pros: 2 very good doctors great with kids Cons: sometimes long waiting time, hard to get appointment more

kids first should not take on new patients 12/1/2009

Do not go with this group. We love the doctor we have, but the problem with Kids First is serious- \r 1. you cannot get anyone on the phone. \r 2. the ""nurses"" do not call you back in a timely manner or at all\r 3. they discourage meds ie antibiotics when your kid has a raging ear infection(!)\r 4.they do not do follow ups even if ordered from St. Mary's the local hospital.. (for H1N1!)\r 5. They will not see you if you have an emergency (my kid had trouble breathing, we had no appointment and they sent us away- I had to go to the emergency)\r \r All this really did happen so do not go there!! We signed up only because we were new to the area and did not know... Pros: close to everyting Cons: DO NOT CHOOSE THEM! more

condescending staff 11/17/2008

I have been taking my two children here for over a year and I have absolutely hated the experience. I never realised how much more empathetic my previous pediatrician was until we started getting such an attitude from the staff at Kids First. My oldest son was on a vaccination schedule that my previous doctor and I discussed. She listened to my opinions and suggested her own and told my why she believed in her suggestions. When we moved here, the whole staff of Kids First pretty much freaked out at me and made many implications about my parenting for not adhering to a schedule that they preferred. There was no talking about it and telling me why they insist on the incredible amount of added vaccinations. I just got eye rolling, huffing and trying to rush me into a decision. Now, with my second son, I was told at my last appointment which included a measles shot, that I had to schedule an appointment within 30 days to get a second shot that was similar. They made it sound very urgent, so I made sure to call and schedule an appointment. Not only does the woman huff on the phone and tell me that I wasn't told that and that she doesn't even know what I'm talking about (very rude), they also don't even have an appointment for another 3 months. I'm tired of their condescending attitudes and inconsistant rules. If trying to run a business, it is not wise to treat clients/patients like idiots just because you don't agree with something. the proffessional thing to do is to inform and offer your opinions in the hope to convince or educate. This tells me a lot about how their business is run and how close-minded they are. I'm a consumer and I am certainly choosing to take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't suggest this practice to anyone who actually wants a part in and an understanding of their child's health. Pros: CHOP, online children's profiles Cons: attitude, lack of options more
