Great family park 5/7/2005

I grew up going to Kennywood. It keeps getting better. I love the Thunderbolt and Racers. I am so glad that they have kept the old coasters. Phantom's Revenge and the Exterminator are excellent too. Its nice that you can still bring a picnic to the park. But the food is great too- don't miss the Potato Patch and funnel cake! Pros: coasters, price, Fries and Funnel cake Cons: hard to find more

More Bang for your buck 4/11/2005

Ride all day for under $30. My NYC kids love to go to Visit Grandma and then hit Kennywood Park. I worked at the games during High School,KP has kept the same safe and fun enviroment today as it was back in the 70's. I find there are plenty of rides for all members of our family young and old. Pros: good food , great price, safety Cons: can't think of one more

I LOVE IT!!!!! 4/10/2005

I am only 19, but have been going to Kennywood since before I was born (that's right everyone, still in my mother's belly) and I can't think of a better family park to go to, it has something for everyone...Coasters (including the awesome SkyCoaster) for the adults and teens, and a wonderful KiddieLand for the little ones.....if you ever get a chance to visit this park....DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 more

Love Kennywood 4/10/2005

Its a great place, clean, friendly, great shows, regualry updated and rides are renovated, decent parking. ""Old Kennywood"" has a lot of throwback rides that are great and ""Kiddieland"" has a great variety! I used to go every summer but the price got too high....I miss Kennywood Pros: good rides, great food, friendly staff Cons: way too expensive, some long lines more

The BEST park in America 7/12/2004

My husband is from Pittsburgh, and RAVED about Kennywood our first summer together. I have gone every year since we started dating ( 5 years ago now) We now take our nieces who at 4 and 5 years old LOVE the roller coasters. They started off on the Lil' Phanton - the kiddie coaster, and now go on ALL the coasters they can. They also love the Pounce Bouce ( a mini version of the Pitfall) and can't wait until they are big enough to ride the real thing! Pros: CLEAN, Short Lines, Family Friendly Cons: , not enough atms, too many prizes more

Kennywood is FUNNER! 7/12/2004

Growing up in Pittsburgh in the 1960-70's Kennywood was something we all looked forward to. Great memories were created there on The Thunderbolt, The Jack Rabbit, The Whip, The Racers, Noahs Ark. It sends chills up my spine and my mind into fun flashback mode. I rode the same rides that my parents did. My first favorite was The Helicopter then The Whip and finally the coasters. The GREAT rollercoasters are the heart and soul of Kennywood. Love to bring my sons, (8, 5) up from our home in Dallas, Texas to ride those same rides with my dad watching. Last time there my son declared that our trip to Disney World was changed to Kennywood, because it was Funner and I agree. We look forward to our returns to Kennywood as our sons grow up and they return with their kids to enjoy FUNNER family times there! Mike Warriner Pros: Rides, Food, Memories Cons: , none, none more

Greatest Park On Earth! 7/12/2004

I have been going to Kennywood since I can remember, over 20 years ago. As a Pittsburgh native, it is such a thrill that I can go to the park every year. The old-time theme really makes you feel you are at home. The rollercoasters fanatic, these are some of the greatest rides I have ever experienced. Make sure you stop by and try the Potato Patch fries, and corn dogs...these are also the best treats I have had at an amusement park! Pros: Rollercoaster, Setting/Theme, Picnic Area more

A MUST FOR ALL 7/12/2004

I grew up going to Kennywood every summer, and for school picnics. This was the greatest place then and has remained one of the nicest and most affordable, fun and family friendly parks I have every been too. It is a must for all ages. more

It's the Best! 7/12/2004

I grew up near Kennywood and went there several times a year as a kid. Our school picnics were there as well as my dad's office picnic. I going to Kennywood to swim in their pool (no longer there of coruse). It was a blast working at Kennywood after my senior year in high school. Lots of memories old and new. You can't go to Kennywood without eating a dipcone at the Golden Nugget or a corn dog with mustard. I worked at the French Fry Factory and they are awesome. The Thunderbolt remains THE greatest coaster in the world. Pros: Clean, Friendly People, Variety of Food more

Kennywood Park 7/17/2003

Kennywood is a great experience for the whole family. I especially like it because a memeber of my family is handicapped and in a wheel chair. They are very helpful in helping us get her on and off rides. Some places that we have been to over look the needs of the handicapped, but Kennywood does not. It is also a very friendly atmosphere, and a good time is had by all. Pros: great rides, something 4 everyone, good parking Cons: crowded, expensive more

Kennywood 7/17/2003

This is a great family place. I have been there many times and can't think of any bad memories. Another great thing is if you have a person who doesn't like to ride they don't have to pay for the whole ticket. I just really enjoy Kennywood and can't wait to go back. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food, Great Rides more

best park 7/17/2003

Full of Charming Traditional Flare 7/17/2003

Kennywood above all has tradition. Being a fellow pittburgher I grew up on Kennywood. Hearing stories of my mother's childhood experiences on the same rides adds a traditional feel that not most amusement parks have. It is historically interesting when I hear my gradmother's stories when she rode on some of the rides that are not there anymore, ie the Pipin. Thunderbolt, Racer, and Jackrabbit are the greatest! OF course you cannot go to Kennywood without having Potatoe Patch frys, a smoothie, and dip n' dots for desert!! But its great that kennywood has the picnic areas. it gives families a place to just enjoy time in the park even if they are unable to ride the rides. I hope that Kennywood keeps its sense of tradition so that I may take my family there in the future and tell stories of my experiences in the park! Pros: Great Food!, Upkeep of older rides, not many long lines Cons: rising admit prices more

Kennywood is Great 7/16/2003

Going to Kennywood is an event in our home. We only live 40 minutes away but you would think we were going to Disney! My kids love all the rides and entertainment. The coasters are some of the best that my son and myself have ever been on and we have been on quite alot of them accross the states. The only drawback is room, they need more of it to expand into new rides and attractions. But if you like old time rides, do not miss the Old Mill. Pros: Phantoms Revenge, Thunderbolt, Potato Patch Frys Cons: Need room to expand, None, None more

Kennywood is the best 7/16/2003

Having grown up in the Burgh I loved Kennywood every year we would go several times but the best time was for Italian day. My whole family would pack up all the good food and we would eat and ride all day. It was the greatest. Having moved to Florida now I don't get there to often. I have been to all the parks down here but that will always be my favorite. The Potato Patch is the best and the sausage sandwiches are great. Waffle ice cream sandwiches where always something we got on the way out. I love this place and I am going back home again next year to go. I am taking my Fiance this time and I know he will love it to. You can't help but love it. Love ya Kennywood from an old Pittsburgher who might be coming home soon. Pros: Potato Patch, Coasters, Atmosphere Cons: To far from Florida, n/a, n/a more

rides 7/16/2003

we were there on 7/15/03 we have fun but the only thing that i didnt like was my 6 year old son was too big for the kiddieland rides and too small for the bigger rides. meanwhile i seen others kids his size getting on both sets of the rides they were not turned down like we were. he was very upset about it.you guys need to readjust the height measure for some kids thank you more

The Best! 7/16/2003

Kennywood is the best park I've ever been to...my children love it and always go back. It is the best of the old,the rollercoasters and arcades of old...and the best of the new,the water rides and new coaster type rides. and the food is the best anywhere...the fries and funnelcakes drive us wild. Pros: Good parking, Good rest areas, Good prices more

excellent 12/29/2002

all around fun for young and old, i am 68 and my wife is catching up and we go every just to see and enjoy the park and some slow rides. i do think that they need some benches in the shade and more tables around the eating places. it kind of hard to hold your food and drink at the same time as eating. yes the big dinning is nice but we enjoy the little places. more
