Cake was destroyed while delivering so they baked a round three layer cake with no detail and brought to the reception 5 hours latter, it had a plastic platform which we specifically requested not to have. Big fiasco, complete failure for $330 dollars. Original cake was supposed to be hexagonal with swirl to feed 75 people and we had to hire purposely professional cake servers to cut that form. So it was an extra $150 additional service for the cake that we never had. They refunded half after my husband and I went to pressure everyday for about 6 or 7 times. I HAVE TO INCLUDE THE STRESS IT CAUSED (MY DAD ALMOST MISSED THE CEREMONY WAITING AROUND FOR THE CAKE) He rushed to get to the ceremony in a tuxedo to walk me down the isle, just for that cake he almost didn't do it. We ordered my niece's birthday cake from Ken's and when we arrived to pick it up, they had no record of the order. They made a cake on the spot that looked and tasted great. We decided to use them again for my sister's wedding shower that was scheduled for weekend of Hurricane Ike, September 13. We ordered and paid for the cake a month in advance but called to put the order on hold once we realized the storm was going coming toward our area. We rescheduled the shower for October 27 and picked up the cake on that day. The appearance was not great - the scroll design appeared to have run and the colors were off from what we ordered. We called that afternoon to complain and were told to bring the cake back to have it fixed. Due to time constraints this was not possible. The cake tasted horrible and had an odor. When saved a piece and took it back to Ken's bakery and were told at that time that this cake had been made prior to the hurricane and had sat in their refrigerator for over a month. Anyone who lives in this area knows that the power was out for days if not weeks. We were told that they had not intended to serve us this cake, however, they did not make a new cake to provide to us. When we called to complain on the day of the shower we were not told NOT to serve the cake to our guests, although they had the opportunity at that time. Unfortunately, we had already ordered and paid for the wedding cake. It was a disappointment as well. The design was different than we ordered, it was leaning and it tasted horrible. They provided us with a complimentary groom's cake to make up for the disaster of a wedding shower cake, however, it did not taste good either. We will never use the bakery again and want others to be warned that they served a cake to us that was over a month old, including a period of time when the bakery experienced a loss of power. I ordered a birthday cake for my cousin's baby's 1st birthday party. When I placed the order, I was told I would receive a free personal cake for the child with my cake order. They wanted to know what flavor and color I wanted for each cake. When I went to pick up the cakes, it was not ready. They said they did not have the personal baby cake and it should not matter because it was free anyway. Finally, after waiting 30 minutes, the baker gave me the baby personal cake that was the wrong flavor and color and said I could ""take it or leave it"". I asked to speak to the manager who did not apologize for her employee's behavior. I left almost in tears and told them I would never enter their business ever again. They made me almost 1 hour late and I brought my cousin the wrong flavor of cake. To top it off, the cake was dry. About an hour later, the baker called to apologize for being rude. But experience there was so stressful, it did not matter. Don't waste your time here. I now buy my cakes at Cakes by Gina. Cons: dry cake, poor customer service more

I haven't ordered a cake from them before and took it home to taste it so i can't comment on the taste other then when i sampled it for my wedding cake. The only thing I don't like about this place is that I went in Feb. sometime and placed the order for my wedding cake. They told me they would make a mock wedding cake for me that week. I called and called weeks later and they always said they would call me back and never did. three months later i still haven't seen a mock wedding cake and I still try calling and going by the bakery but the owner is never there. thats what is really bothering me about this place. This is the best bakery that I have found in the Pasadena area. Art work is fantastic, they can do pretty much whatever you want. I took a cake to a gathering that was mostly people who are not really cake eaters. There was nothing left. Everyone loved it! Also they have breakfast tacos and kolaches now in their new building. I had my wedding, and a Birthday cake done here, plus numerous doughnuts at Kens. They have great tasting food at great prices, plus they can make things at last minute for you, which is hard to find in the gormuet bakery industry! I love this bakery!
