Dr. Kelly is a miracle-worker in our eyes:\r
\r
My son had been tested for every learning disability that two school systems and a private school could think of but nothing showed up on any of the tests as being his problem. \r
He is very intelligent but couldn't put his thoughts on paper and could barely read. His drawings looked like the scribbles of a toddler.\r
In the 4th grade, he was lucky enough to have a teacher who found the problem, using a simple pencil. She showed me that his eyes could not track from left to right. They jumped and jerked around instead of smoothly tracking.\r
That wonderful teacher referred us to Dr. Kelly. \r
My son began visual therapy with her and the transformation was fast and absolutely amazing. He went from barely reading and writing at the middle of 4th grade, to making honor roll his entire 5th and 6th grade. \r
He was in Junior Honor Society in middle school, qualified and was accepted to an academic magnet school for high school- graduated with honors and won full scholarships to college.\r
He graduated college with a 4.0 and is now in grad school (with a 4.0 average). He is an artist and is working on a book. \r
\r
We owe ALL this to Dr. Kelly and the teacher who found the problem (I wish I could review the teacher, too) and was good enough to refer us to Dr. Kelly.\r
She is our family optometrist and is very thorough with all our eye exams. We'll never go anywhere else! The last time he was there for a regular eye exam, she retested him for the original problems he had in 4th grade, just to be thorough.\r
\r
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kelly and her office.\r
\r
This is my very first time to write a review. I came online to get the phone number to make a regular (overdue!) eye appointment and found that I could sign up and review and rave about Dr. Marie C. Kelly, OD. It might be the only review I ever write, but it needed to be said.
Pros: thorough, accurate exams, lovely office, great office staff, personal service
Cons: None.
