Great Bagels at Low Prices 11/19/2006

What can I say, but they're cheap, good, varied, and the service is friendly. My standard is the turkey sandwich bagel - with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and mustard. They always abide by my 'easy on the mayo' request and I like that you have the option of toasted ... And cheap! I can get a turkey bagel and apple juice for $6. Good place for a low-key lunch on the weekends. Their service is also always fast, regardless of how busy. I also appreciate their large variety of bagel-types. Pros: Good, Cheap Lunch in the Mission Cons: Not a ""hot"" meal more

Hard to believe they're low-carb 3/15/2006

Fantastic way to start your day without over-carbing and crashing later on. These bagels are fantastic, the whole wheat had ground wheat kernals that were crunchy- yummy! A lot better than the acidic-tasting whole wheat version you get at Noah's down the street. They certainly don't taste low carb- nice and chewy on the outside, soft on the inside! They have tofutti spread, too, for those of you who are lactose-averse like me. I haven't tried it yet, but will be a regular at this place, which is very reasonably priced for the heart of the Financial District. Pros: low-carb, delicious, friendly service more

Excellent LOW CARB bagels!!!! 11/8/2005

Couldn't believe how good they were! They use soy flour but have the same consistency as the regular bagels. They cost $1 each and come in several varieties. 9 carbs each..what a find! The regular bagels are also good. Tried the lox and cream cheese spread. It's okay, but not as good as Holey Bagel. They also have a new location on Haight and Steiner. Pros: Great Lo-carb bagels, Good regular bag Cons: Lox spread mediocre, Parking is tough more

deliciously chewy and super friendly service 6/9/2005

puh-LESE. i'm not jewish, but i am a bagel connoisseur and KATZ BAGELS are ggrrreat! nice and chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. and they make all kind of bagelwiches for you! peanut butter and honey - so sweet and lovely OR lox with onions and tomatoes! YUM! and the people at katz are super friendly, efficient, and quick! don't listen to sour tomatoes' review. bagels from noah's are so fluffed up with air that i get gas. HA! and supermarket bagels can't compare. ST also isn't from the city. 13 bagels for 6 and some change AIN'T BAD. and a v. substantial lox bagel for $5 is a pretty good deal. SO THERE! Pros: bagels, service Cons: location, parking more

Not a good way to start the day 3/27/2005

Bagles are overpriced and chewey. Spreads are good, but again overpriced. I asked them once to heat up a bagel (aka toast it), and the threw it in the microwave! Try something else, like a supermarket or a chain. Pros: Open Early Cons: Lousy Bagles, Overpriced more
