Although, i hate to write reviews...I absolutely HAD to! I too have shopped at Katia several times and all the times not spending less than $500... I was so excited one day before my birthday and wanted to buy alot, atleast 2 grand..i just wanted like 4 jeans or whatever fit, i wanted....well as i walked in, I said HI!! She, the owner I know because she has waited on me the last time I was there.; Actually bringing me pieces to the dressing room and suggesting other items, anyway i went in there just happy and then she said, oh sorry we're by appointment only; i was like really, since when? she said this whole year, i have a sign on the door...I said ""well thats odd, because i have been here before with no appointment"" she just looked and shrugged her shoulders...MIND YOU>>> the store was empty!! I asked if I wanted to buy something now could I, she said NO. I was shocked and how bold she was... so i proceeded to ask her "" do we have to buy anything when we make an appt?"" she said ""NO"" That to me is a TOTAL waste of time...I had to make an appt even if I did or didn't buy anything and I wanted to spend ALOT that day...total let down! Even though, yes she has cute things and clothes the celebs wear, I don't think its worth anyones time to even bother going in... If I can suggest to you... Lady Elle in uptown park, Abejas on Kirby, even a cute little resale shop that carries all of this plus Gucci, L, Prada and all the cool jeans called More than you can Imagine on westheimer... more

I cannot even believe this store exists still. I have never been treated by a store owner the way Katia's owner treats her customers. No. 1, she will yell at you if you TOUCH the clothing on the racks. No. 2, Way to expensive to spend my money on a store that is hurtful and rude to their customers. If youre looking for abuse, Katia is your store-happy shopping, it is not. While I admit, Ive shopped the store several times, always lured back by the jean selection & array of unusual finds; but my past visit will be my last. While disappointed, I cant endure it: I last walked in to be scolded by the owner. She insisted no fumbling through things, which is quite normal of her, but then she proceeded to advise that they work by appointments only (since when?). I was appalled, especially being a repeat cust. With every nerve twitching to retaliate, I mustered her classless existence & proceeded to try on selections the personal shopper deemed appropriate. With much regret, I passed up 3 items I loved, around $600 worth - b/c of the owner, I took my business elsewhere. For someone catering to the public, she missed the concept of Cust. Service. I have been shopping here for over ten years and have always found something to buy and new ideas on how to dress. i have also picked up the owners little bichon and carried him around the store and he couldn't have been more friendly and sweet so i was shocked at one of your reviews i read. In town to work with band that was playing here, long story short, the airlines lost my luggage. In town for 3 days, no clothes. I remembered a boutique that I liked last time I was in town a couple years earlier. Katia, looked up the address and ran into this site. I'm really surprised at the extreme reviews, people either love it or hate it. It's weird that some of the customers take a walk in a boutique so personally. In L.A., you'd be thrown in therapy immediately. Why so harsh, if you don't feel comfortable in a store, don't go back. Anyway, after reading these, I felt the need to say that I was treated fine, normal, polite...I looked around, found some things, asked who I later found out was the owner about some jeans, told her my problem and she set me up, she helped me find some gems that I missed and I happily walked out of Katia forgetting how upset I was about my luggage. I have been a customer here for three years and sometimes I wonder why. I do enjoy the selection of denim and other unique items I find. Customer service leaves alot to be desired. This creates a delimma for me every time I think I want to spend my money here. This is where my title comes from, the anxiety I feel before I even enter the store makes me wonder why I keep going back. Maybe it's convenient for me because I don't like high traffic areas. Katia Boutique gives new meaning to:INCREDIBLY RUDE. It makes the mind reel with how rude the owner is to customers who are spending money to benefit her business. I enjoy finding unique items but have found there is NOTHING there, that can't be found on the internet or in another store with staff who will acknowledge your existence. Whether it's high end or moderately priced clothing, Houston has a lovely buffet of boutiques to shop in with personnel who will treat you with basic human kindness. A rude owner, a barking dog, clothes you can't touch, clothes you can find some place else.... Not to mention it being ""By Appointment Only"". Come on. Houston women don't need an appointment to shop, just money. The owner is missing the boat on that note, not to mention sales. you can find a lot of good brand jeans such as true religion but other then that the place is very unoriginal and tries to be presumptious. more

A friend & I went in to look. Her dog came out and charged at me. Only after I picked up a pillow to keep it away did someone come to get it, only to allow it to come towards me again. My friend & I were asked if we had appointments and were told she was ""a personal shopper by appointment only"". Judging from the previous reviews, that is not true. I believe she just did not want us there, being that the dog was allowed to come near us a second time. No assistance was offered, and she stopped short of asking us to leave. I went to Katia with a friend who was doing research on boutiques and high-end department stores to compare prices, selection, and service --- Katia was the WORST BY FAR. Prices were the same or MORE expensive on same items, selection was average, service was HORRIBLE... OurExperience: 1) no store hours were posted, but that didn't stop the employee from rushing everybody out the door 5 minutes before an arbitrary ""closing time""; 2) while we were looking through some items, she'd ask if we were done yet versus offering help; 3) when we made our purchases, we were hoping her attitude would change since we were giving her our business (albeit unwillingly for the research project), but did it? NOPE. She just took our purchases, threw them in the bag and handed it to us without a single word! I think the best part of the whole experience was leaving! I went to Katia's to check it out after I heard she had a huge selection of jeans. The whole time I was there I had a dog barking at me the WHOLE time. Then after I said that I hope the dog does not bite, the rude owner scolded at me for talking about her dog! I was too scared too touch anything because of all the stupid signs saying do not touch! I was not greeted going in or asked to be helped at all. Worst of all? It STUNK like dog and I like my clothes to smell new NOT like dog! Cons: , rude owner, cannot touch clothes more

katia always has the latest and coolest stuff. You can always find the perfect everyday outfit there along with trendy jewelry and quality brands that are current and fit nicely.
