Very pushy. Mother and daughter team would frequently speak in another language in front of customer which is quite unethical. Inconsistent prices.

Wonderful selection and service 4/13/2009

Shopped for weeks looking for my bridal gown for my wedding in July until I stumbled upon the store as I was driving to work using a different route. I ended up finding a gorgeous bridal gown at this great salon at my Friday appointment. It so happened to be that it fit me perfectly off the rack. I only need a bustle! I almost purchased a gown at another store for $2000 and here I found a dress for $800! I couldn't beat that no matter where I went for my pristine condition Lasposa gown. Alterations are extremely reasonable and will be done within three weeks. I can't beat this service. I was being told such absurdities at other salons that did nothing but stress me out. And my friends had such horrible experiences with their gowns at other places they shopped and had their alterations done…here I have more control over my wedding day and dress itself going with this shop. It’s extremely spacious, well lit, has a large selection and very reasonably priced. They offer many services that I'm sure many brides could take advantage of. I recommend an appointment, I'm glad I made one in advance, they were extremely busy when I came in with prom girls and what looked like brides getting alterations. Though it was a holiday, I'm sure they get busy considering the services they offer. Overall great place to shop. Highly recommend. more

Outstanding Service & Selection! 3/3/2009

By far one of the most pleasant experiences I've encountered during my entire wedding planning endevour. I had a nightmare situation at another salon and was near discouraged of going anywhere else. My friend who had just been married recommended that I visit Kasia's Bridal. Truly the entire staff there was just outstanding. Very understanding, pulled gowns out on recommendation for me, I mean truly worked hard to make me happy. Purchased my dresses the same day, it happened to be an in-stock rack piece that I just had to have - it was perfect for me, and if fit me as if it were sewn for me! Cordial and honest staff, unbelievable selection, and great prices. I will recommend this shop to all in need of a bridal gown or any other form of formal attire. Truly worth the trip. more

Still great to me 1/5/2009

Had to chime in and give my 2 cents with regard to the great boutique. I've reveiwed this store before and recieved an update and was shocked. I am a fan of patroning family run businesses, and these woman deserve a lot of credit working in of all things, bridal retail. This store is a gem of a find and has assisted me with a number of occasions, including my own wedding. I continue to see Kasia's store for evening gowns for all of the family Aserian weddings I attend, and K&K for my alterations. Jess, I believe your allegations are quite serious and should really be taken up with Kasia's Bridal and/or K&K. Knowing the owners I am convinced that they would address the matter if you talked to them directly and not like a coward on a public site. If you pay for something and aren't happy, you have the right to let them know, as they have a right to know as well, NO they SHOULD know. As for Clair, your story is quite remarkable. I have to ask, what does one have to do to booted out of a bridal salon?! I don't want to even imagine what kind of "zilla's" you all must have been...I believe there's more to your story than you're letting on. There are always two sides to EVERY story. All in all, ladies, bridal planning can be stressful, so take a breather and relax. Then call Kasia's Bridal for an appointment because they really know quality and style, as well as how to make a client feel like family - comfortable and at ease. After all, any even can be a special event and you deserve the best. (Sorry if I sound redundant, I just really love the service, quality and prices this store offeres. They are really one of the best to me.) more

Poor alterations job, overpriced gown. Unprofessional. Please go somewhere else. 1/2/2009

They did a terrible job on altering my wedding gown. The bustle was so poorly done I had to go to another bridal place to have it redone. The gown they sold me was way overpriced. A wedding is one of the most important day of your life. There are so many bridal salons out there. These two are not very professional. I felt that the daughter took advantage of me. One of the best I've visited 12/11/2008

Tell me why more stores don't run as smoothly as this bridal shop does? I made my appointment for a Saturday (Iknew it was suicide but it was the only day I had my mom with me). The place was bus, but all seemed to move efficiantly & smoothly. I got to try on 11 dresses & I got my gown the same day. I saw a smiliar dress in a downtown chi-chi boutique for $2000 MORE than I bought for at Kasias Bridal. I will recommend this clean, honest & upbeat bridal shop to all of my friends. Good luck! more

Wonderful little boutique 12/1/2008

Good: Quality of gowns was superior. Clean and well kept store and merchandise. Loved the one on one service. Kasia kept to my appointment and really was involved in assisting me.. more

Horrible Experience! 11/30/2008

Bad: Service, location, atmosphere. Improvements: Allow brides to decide if they would like to look at pictures or if they can describe styles that they like (e.g., sweetheart neckline, A-line skirt, corset back, etc.). more

Bridal shops sould take example from Kasia's Bridal 4/16/2008

Charming shopkeeper, great selection, samples normal women can get into (8-16 and quite a few plus sizes), great sale rack, but most of all NO ATTITUDE! We waltzed in with no appointment and the woman was amazingly friendly but simply stated that she would be more than happy to help as soon as she was finished with whom she was working with. No prob, we looked at her in-store catalog in the meantime, where we bookmarked the gowns that I wanted to see. When she was done, (she sold the bride who was probably there for an hour with all the gowns that were pulled out for her - we only waited like 15 minutes, so I’m sure she was there longer). The owner didn't mind that I tried on like 10 dresses, I thought it was a lot. She loaned me shoes and brought out the veils. When I found a sample gown I liked, she offered to hold it for a day so I could bring my mom to look at it too. Needless to say, I bought my gown at Kasia’s Bridal, and paid $950 for it with tax. The selection is vast and ranges in prices from $600 to about $2500. And there are many non-strapless gowns- plenty with sleeves, straps, halters, and of course sleveless too. If you're looking for an under-$1000 dress without going through David's hell, this is a great option. more

Go somewhere else 3/13/2008

I wish I had not listened to Kasia and/or her mother regarding any aspect of my dress or my birdesmaid dresses!! Every dress we got (8) was too big. Kasia insisted on getting each dress at least two sizes larger, even though the girls tried on the one size she had in the store, and it was big on them, so we wanted to get smaller sizes. We ended up only getting them only one size bigger. I could only imagine how huge these dresses would be if we listened to Kasia's logic on sizes. She wants her mom to do the alterations, and charge even more money. I left and hired a professional seamstress to alter them all and my dress. Which is still 70% cheaper than what Kasia quoted me, and a real professional is doing the alterations, not her mom. If they were too long, that's one thing, but all 8 were huge!!! Now we have to pay hundreds of dollars for alterations when the girl's dresses were already $260! Please, not one fit. And then my dress, Kasia wanted to order 4 sizes bigger! WHAT?!? I measured myself and made her get me the size according to the designers chart and it fit like a glove! Again, don't listen to Kasia's measurements. Now, the dress is still 5 inches too long (with shoes on), she purposely ordered it extra length, which I said not to, and I'm 5'8", not 6'2". She would not take credit for the super long dress, she has a no return policy, and now it's going to have to be chopped. I WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF ORDERING THE DRESS ONLINE. It was cheaper online ( $80), and no sales tax online, the extra length was $50 which I didn't want, I paid $100 tax! And I could have returned it online. What a scam, please don't waste your time here. The dresses took 20 weeks to get here, and they're all useless. She is rude on the phone, then kisses your butt when you are there, then talks in Polish to her mom behind your back and you don't know what they are saying. Go somewhere else is my sincere advice. Good luck and happy shopping- somewhere else more

Warm & Fuzzy 11/20/2007

In planning my wedding my fiancée and I have a method of how we are choosing things for our up coming event. We call it the “Warm and Fuzzy” method. So my wedding was about a year away and I am a very picky person. So I knew I needed to look for my wedding gown sooner then later. So I went to a few bridal shops and was not happy, I wasn’t getting that “warm and fuzzy” feeling when I walked in. So I use to live in the portage park area and I remember passing Kasia’s Bridal on my way home every night. So I call and made an appointment. As soon as I walked in the door I got the “warm and fuzzy” feeling, I felt like I was visiting a friend. I told Kathy what I was looking for and she brought out a few different gowns. Well after trying on the fourth dress I knew that was the dress for me. I was amazing I told her what type of dress I was looking for and in a matter of minutes. She had found the perfect dress for me. I had the same experience with the bridesmaid’s dresses. I told Kathy what I was looking for she pulled out the first dress and I knew that was it. Kasia’s Bridal has really made my life so much easier. Not only do they have beautiful dresses, Kathy and her mom make you feel like an old friend more

Best bridal boutique my friends and I have ever been to! 12/4/2006

I have to say in 5 years, I've stood up as a bridesmaid to not 1, not 2, but 16 weddings, 10 of which purchased dresses (bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses) from Kasia's Bridal and we had nothing but great service EVERY time. The selection is awesome and the service is spectacular compared to other places we've all been too. If you want a deal, you can't expect much for space, which this shop may not have, but this never affected me in anyway, so long as I get my dress, which I did in a timely manner, and they are always better in price than other places. I had my alterations always done there as well, even on the dresses that were not purchased from Kasia's Bridal. I keep sending my friends there, whether I'm in the bridal party or not, and they all come back thanking me for sending them there. I know the owner (Kasia) will always take care of my friends as well as me if I have to stand up to any other weddings. SO, I HIGHLY recommend Kasia's Bridal to friends, family, and those who are looking for that special dress for that special day. The selection, service and prices are great. What more can you ask for from a bridal boutique?! You'd think more stores would take notes from stores like Kasia's Bridal. Just a note, they get extremely busy and they're a boutique, so make an appointment for priority service. Good Luck! more

Good selection, poor display 11/10/2006

I visited Kasia's Bridal today looking for a Mother of the Bride dress for (& with) my mom. Even with the address, the store is a little difficult to locate because it also goes by the name of K&K Dressmaking which is the more prominent name on the small storefront. Once inside the store we were greeted immediately and shown where we could look at the dresses. It was very difficult to get through the dresses, in fact a rack of dresses had to be moved to the side to see what we were interested in. However, we did find some very nice dresses although were disappointed with high prices. All in all I think this is a very good store - it has a great selection of Mother of the Bride dresses and also offers wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses in addition to in house alterations. The owner was also a great help. The store would benefit greatly from a larger space to display dresses and serve customers. Also note that you should make an appointment before going to the store, especially if you go on a Saturday. more

Brides beware – horrible place, horrible service !!! 11/10/2006

I ordered my bridal gown from Kasia’s Bridal 7 months before my wedding. Kasia was nice and helpful when it came to ordering, but all hell broke loose when my dress arrived a month before the wedding. I came to the fitting and found a completely different dress waiting for me. Now I do understand that mistakes happen, but the kind of response and service I got from that point on was unacceptable. First, the owner announced that she is not sure if she can help me get the right dress on time (!!!) and furthermore that it is my fault because the dress came in a week before and it might be too late to do anything !!! It wasn’t until I broke down crying that she finally decided to call the company. She was not able to get me MY dress ordered 7 months earlier, she offered either the dress 6 sizes bigger or the same dress in different color!!! Having only one month, I took the second option. At that time I had my shoes, veil and accessories already purchased in white, but because I could only get my dress in ivory those had to be changed. Because of the color issue, and all the other trouble I went through I asked Kasia for a discount but she just laughed straight to my face. My dress arrived shortly before the wedding, it was all wrinkled, bundled in a tiny bag. I got it out of the store in a plastic garbage bag! Alterations that her rude mother offered were very expensive so I got them done somewhere else for much less. The overall process what very unpleasant, Kasia and moreover her mother were very, very unpleasant, yelled at me, made me cry every time I was there. I was very disappointed and couldn’t believe that Chicago still has places with such awful service. So all the potential customers beware, you might find your dress there a little cheaper, but don’t worry, Kasia’s awfully impolite mother will get the difference back on her expensive alterations. Go to a place that threats their customers right, you do not need the stress when preparing for the most important day of your life – you deserve better. more

Small but has a fun selection 7/31/2005

This store seems very small upon entry but you'll soon realize what it has to offer. Its selection is extensive. Walking through this store is very difficult as you will find the few walkways it has obstructed with layers of tulle, silk, and any other material you can imagine layering its dresses. This was by far one of the most fun selections I've seen during my prom dress quest. Although none of the dresses here really worked out for me, it was really fun coming to try them out - and the ladies were very helpful. They had a really unique selection of the more traditional poofy prom dress. Normally those dresses are not something I enjoy but the one's Kasia's had were not your regular "Princess" pouf. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a special occasion dress. This place is not afraid to stock up on color. more
