Dr. McCowen is well-respected by other doctors for good reason. He's an excellent clinician and is particularly skilled at treating thyroid issues. He has an excellent, easygoing bedside manner and is thorough and very experienced. The only downside is that he is busy, so you can wait a long time to get an appointment. And his office staff is disorganized, so expect to bird dog any unusual insurance or billing issues. They also have a tendency to be behind schedule, so don't be surprised if you get stuck in the waiting room for up to an hour before you finally see the doctor.
