I moved to the area from Los Angeles a few years ago and was paralyzed with fear with the idea of trying a new salon. I tried Juut b/c I love Aveda products and b/c the price was consistent with what I normally pay for a master-level stylist in NYC or LA (I figured if I paid the same, I would get about the same - not a miracle, but at least a little help). I was deeply surprised and pleased when Louise actually DID work miracles with my hair - she is hands down the BEST stylist I have ever had. My hair is extremely difficult to work with b/c it's curly and very fine, and I have TONS of it. Louise is such an amazing stylist that I would literally and happily pay her twice as much (plus, she's always been totally happy and willing to cut it to last a little longer between cuts - 4 to 6 months instead of 2-3). I recommend her to everyone - and ESPECIALLY to anyone with curly (read: nightmare) hair. I cannot tell you how many compliments I get - even my mother, who notoriously hates everything I've ever done to my hair, told me how great my hair lookes and asked what I've been doing differently. For the first time, my curly hair is a blessing instead of a curse. Louise is a GENIUS. Best of all, I don't have to stress about what I want - I can ask her to do what she thinks is best - and she does, and she's always right., even while she's sensitive to what I /do/ want (length, level of daring, etc.) No matter what, my hairstyle is always beautiful and fashion conscious. I cannot recommend her highly enough. And to those of you who have complained about the price, I understand it's pricey - but If you're willing to pay $150 for an outfit you'll wear a couple of times (or even a couple outfits you'll wear several times), I think it's well worth the investment to pay for a fabulous haircut you'll wear every day, rain or shine, for the next 3-6 months (or longer). Louise is a hair master - and she's also a really nice, funny, and warm person. Louise ROCKS!
Pros: amazing style, friendly staff, wonderful products (but no product pushing)
Cons: lighting is a little too low, ambience not as serene as would be expected, must book appts. a month in advance
