Great Breakfast place on the Eastside 10/18/2011

My husband and I have been going to Julia's for breakfast for many years and it's one of our favorite restaurants. There are many selections on the breakfast menu and our kids (ages 9 and 11) love the kids' menu. We enjoy the family-like environment and the staff is always very nice and welcoming and the food is delicious. more

My parents liked it 6/9/2011

Took my parents here for lunch last weekend. They can be very picky when it comes to eating out. So of course I am always a little nervous when we go out to eat. To my relief our waitress was very sweet and accomadating and answered any question they had very patiently. Knowing my parents they always make changes to the menu, and our waitress checked with the kitchen to make sure our substitutions would not be a problem. My parents loved their sandwiche and hamburger, and I was very happy with my lunch as well. Thank you for accommadating us, we have to come back for breakfast. more

good lunch 6/3/2011

My husband and I have been here twice. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. The first time we both had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The service was good, food arrived hot and quickly. The meal was definitely different then your typical chicken fried steak (different breading then I've ever had) but both my husband and I enjoyed it. The second trip we both got burgers and fries. I tried the vegan burger and absolutely loved it, my husband of course had the beef burger. The waitress informed us that the vegan burger is made in-house and that the beef is hormone-free and all natural. Again the service was good and friendly. more

Great Place to re-fuel 5/24/2011

I go here a lot with my friends after we play golf and need to re-fuel for another game. I love their big Hamburgers all natural beef on their homemade bun, was great to find out that their bakery bakes all their breads including the buns. I always get the sweet potatoe fries. I also go for the sandwiches sometimes they are served now with homemade rustic potato chips. You have to try these, they are addictive and I want Julia's to start baging them up for me. Always friendly service as well. We will be back to re-fuel soon. more

Consistantly Good Food and Service 5/18/2011

I like the Issaquah Julia's and the Broadway one the most. You can always count on good healthy food at a reasonable price, and helpful service. But what i like the most every time I go you see folks from all age groups. The moms and their babies, college students with their laptops, sitting next to the older couple or the professional business people. Everyone seems to find something here and Julia's seems to attract all kind of people. Always friendly service and very good food. more

Charming, hospitable, excellent place to eat 1/1/2011

One of my Favorite restaurants in town, hands down! It has a charming vintage, relaxed atmosphere, lots of windows, Great Service, and Really Good Food. We tried the sweet potato fries for the first time and, oh boy were they good! Their salmon & scrambled eggs is exquisite and I just can't say enough about the degree of excellence of their food & preparation. Julia's uses fresh, quality products and their menu items are homemade. more

Heart of Issaquah 11/17/2010

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town! I recently moved here a little over a year ago and I have just now tried about every place I can in Issaquah. Julia's is a gem. The food is DE-LICIOUS. The breakfast is the best part. If you are sick of cookie cutter Denny's-type food with liquid eggs and frozen sausage, this is the place to go. They have FRESH and HOMEMADE ingredients. The lunch is great too- with tons of different sandwiches and entrees, and yummy homemade soups. The building itself is a little outdated and could use some updating but the general atmosphere is wonderful. The decor has kind of an older, antique-type feel and is very quaint. The servers are very sweet and accommodating whether it is very busy or very slow. If you are looking for super fine-dining or breakfast fast-food style, then you are looking in the wrong place. But if you are looking for a cute, courteous, and delicious family-style restaurant, then this is the place to go. more

DON'T READ OLD REVIEWS! 11/17/2010

I had many wonderful experiences at this restaurant the and wanted to share my view. But when I came on this website and was reading previous reviews of Julia's, I could not believe the amount of negative reviews that were posted! But I quickly realized that those hostile posts were very old- some are from more than five years ago! I think this website should take down posts after a couple years or so, personally. But here is a RECENT and ACCURATE review of Julia's of Issaquah: I have been a frequent patron of all the Julia's restaurants for some time now. But the Issaquah location is my absolute favorite. Every time I go there, I am greeted warmly by a friendly, smiling waitress. Sometimes the place is very busy, other times it is slow - depending on the day of the week and the time of day - but the service is always attentive and lovely. The food is averagely-priced but you certainly get a bang for your buck! The food is always fresh and delectable. The omelets are my favorite, but they have great sandwiches and soups for lunch too! I spoke with the manager and she informed me that most all of the ingredients are homemade, such as the bread and soups. They even have old-fashioned freezer jam, fresh-squeezed juice, and they roast their own meats. For the price, it doesn't get much better than that! They also have a huge selection of healthy/organic items. Their soda is organic but it tastes like (or better than) Coke products. They use lean meats and fresh produce. You can go with a handmade garden burger or a bulky 1/2 pound organic lean beef burger - and either way you will leave feeling satisfied. I will admit that the restaurant itself is in need of a bit of updating- for example, new carpeting. But the building is about 30 years old so things like that are to be expected. If you go in with accurate expectations, you will leave with outstanding opinions. The manager is a very sweet gal who has been working there for about a year and a half. (There is a picture of her and a small article in the Issaquah Reporter from last week.) But since she became an addition to the place, I have really been able to tell a difference. Things have really picked up. She got the place painted and fixed up the decorations a bit. There have even been a few menu updates to perfect the wide variety of items they provide. She said that the process is a long one, but she is still working on making the place even better- although I'm not sure how!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy place to eat. It is great for friend/family get-togethers, business lunches, or quick meals alone. more

Familiar Faces 6/4/2010

Me and my friends have been going to all Julia's location for years. The food is always great, nothing spectacular but for the price a very good value. Service reliable and friendly and we know some of the staff, because they have been there for years. Must be a great place to work for, usually in the service industry nothing is permanent. But I find it comforting to see familiar faces when I go to Julia's. more

Great Breakfasts 5/31/2010

One of the better breakfast places on the eastside. Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict are outstanding, but so are the many varieties of eggs, and, of course, their french toast. We have generally had good service, and are usually in and out, and well fed, within an hour. Pros: Good breakfast on the Eastside! Cons: Usually there's a long line to get in on weekends more

Disappointed - Won't come back 4/2/2010

We were 1st patron in cafe on Sat morning. Next thing we new, a family of 4 (2 noisy kids) were seated right next to us (chairs touched). We were reluctantly allowed to move away from noise makers. Server treated us like we were there to just annoy her. She was unable to answer the few questions we had about the menu (like was the blueberry compote in the pancake or on the pancake - she did't know). Food arrived and one breakfast was hardly warm - bacon was cold, greasy (remember we were the 1st patrons and in hindsight I wonder when the bacone was cooked); eggs were hardly warm; toast was cold; cantaloupe had gone bad - one bite and it made me ill; my friends pancake was just so so, the blueberry compote was served on the side and the server told her it normally is in the pancake . .why it came that way we don't know. The server only asked if everything was ok when she collected our money for the meal. I have eaten at 3 of the other Julia's and have never had an experience like this and would not recommend this cafe to anyone. more

fast & friendly 9/12/2008

Have been going to Julia's for years, and thought it's time to write why I go to this little cozy hangout. First of all i like they provide free wireless, which comes in handy with my busy schedule. Food is always very tasty, I love the whole pancakes and treat myself to them about ones a week. Also like that most of their stuff is made in house, like their breads, dessert dressing and the fish and chips, which is another one of my favorites. Try out this little place, friendly service and reasonable priced to top it off. Pros: healthy, inexpensive more

Tasty Breakfast 9/1/2008

Came here with my husband and two children before a recent camping trip. Service was very friendly and fast. Food very well prepared and generous portions. My husband had a big omelet made with egg whites, i indulged in the French toast. The bread was absolutely delicious, the whole thing had a nice flavor of orange, together with the butter and syrup it was incredible. The waitress told us later that the bread for the French toast is baked in their in house bakery. Our kids had oatmeal and they split a cinnamon roll, also from their bakery. We will be back! Pros: very good value, in house bakery more

Mediocre food, expensive coffee, slow service - Never again! 7/20/2008

Ironically about 6 months ago I went to Julia's and came away from the experience thinking - ""I won't come back here"", but low and behold I forgot and found myself there for breakfast the other day. Unfortunatly nothing has changed. The quality of food continues to be mediocre, the service slow, the prices for what you are receiving are high (especially the coffee), and to really chap my hide they told me they don't accept the Microsoft Passport card for breakfast so I ended up paying full price for my poor and slow meal. They don't even have decent toothpicks! I should have gone to IHOP down the street. It would have been superior on all parameters. Pros: Easy Parking Cons: Everything Else more

Veggie burger and fries not what they used to be 1/30/2008

I have eaten at Julia's for more than 20 years. My very favorite meal used to be their ""nutburger"" made from scratch served with home made french fries that were made with fresh potatoes. These no longer exist and in their place are a frozen supermarket veggie burger patty (with a poor supermarket white bread bun) and frozen french fries. This wasn't good. What a disappointment! Pros: clean Cons: not what it used to be more

Worst Restaurant in town, chef and wait staff poorly trained 12/22/2007

What a dissapointment. Great location, cute restaurant, but when you get inside it is not clean, that means that the owners and people who work there are lazy and not clean. We ordered the food, price was ok, when I got my salmon I was shocked at how small the portion size was. My whole plate was one of the worst prepared meals I had ever seen. This is like school cafeteria food, they love to use that green leaf. Barely just a step above Dennys. Anyone who gave this rest. more than one star does not pay attention to qualtity and frequents Dairy Queen for dinner regularly. The vegetables on my plate where a mixture of frozen and fresh, America this is why France does not like us, we dont appreciate food and we let restaurants like this one serve us anything and you give it 5 stars. America wake up! Pros: Quiche was soo soo Cons: Chef cant cook, owners dont care, staff poorly trained, needs complete renovation of room and menu, staff etc. more

Don't listen to web page if ordering a honey baked ham 12/4/2007

There webpage states that you can order a honey baked ham in as little as two days notice or up to one month in advance. So I tried to order a ham three days in advance. I was told ""no,no,no"" on the phone. I asked for a manager and he said I could in fact order a ham in as little as two days. i said I would like to order one to have in three days and he then said he couldn't do that, just after he told me he could. I told him about the webpage and he said it was a mistake. Cons: Poor webpage more

we will be back 8/27/2006

Our friends took us here recently for breakfast. After a short wait we were seated at a sunny table right by the window. The menu selection was big it was hard to decide what to order. Our waitress was very helpful and she suggested to go with the whole wheat/buck wheat pancakes, filled with blueberries. The pancakes and the rest of our food was excellent and plentyful. Thank you and we will be back. more

tasty lunch 3/11/2006

I took my mother here last week for lunch, this little restaurant was busy, but we were seated with no wait. Our lunch was great, we loved the soup and the fresh fruit served with the sandwiches. The service was fast and friendly. Too bad they don't offer dinner here. We will be back. Pros: reasonable prices, easy parking, no stairs more
