Editorial review from Citysearch 10/26/2013

I have seen Dr. Johnson for several months. My goal with her before starting was that i wanted to get iff the two medications I was taking. She was agreeable and has been responsive to that request. We are doing this slowly and it is working. I have recommended others to her. I have a separate therapist, and i see Dr. johnson for med management, this seems to be how it works these days. more

Don't Understand Previous ""Bad Raps"" ! 9/1/2009

I don't understand some of the previous negative comments regarding overprescribing medications, or not understanding any reactiions. My medication list from her is very short: just one prescription. And our conversations regarding appropriate meds and dosing levels have been very thorough. She has known all my other physicians and therapists, and all the other prescriptions they have prescribed, including any potential interactions. I really don't get what the other people are talking about.\r \r Pros: Understands personal situations better than any most. Cons: None that I know of. more

NOT A GOOD CHOICE! 4/16/2009

Spent three years with Rosa. Ended up losing my job due to her prescribing Topamax, which caused me to lose my ability to function in a job I'd held for many, many years. Was on seven different medications at one point, including Abilify, and slowly disintegrated, losing confidence in driving, suffering problems with balance, inability to reason, thickening speech pattern, tremors, and many other side effects. \r \r Finally, lost my balance and fell, breaking tailbone. Spent one week in hospital and three weeks in rehab. Diagnoses when I was dischaged: Sacral fracture and neuroleptic malignant syndrome due to Abilify. \r \r Rosa did not relate to my complaints during our sessions about the side effects and at the end prescribed yet another medication for my tremors, making a total of seven psychotropic medications I was taking when hospitalized.\r \r Rosa seemed unable to tell the difference between someone who was over-medicated versus being depressed.\r \r I was taken off all medications by the hospital physician and remain off all the medications Rosa prescribed with the exception of a small dose of Prozac and Xanax, which I had been on prior to seeing her. \r \r It's been almost five months since I was taken off medications and life has never been better. My friends and family are delighted that I've ""returned"" to them.\r \r I simply cannot recommend this woman to anyone for fear she might cause more damage with her penchant for over-prescribing medications and her seeming inability to tell when a patient has been over-medicated. Pros: Very good therapist Cons: Not in touch with side effects of medications she prescribes more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS 4/3/2009

The comments above were right on! This person may be a good therapist, but she relies on prescribing medications. Her patients become putty in her hands since they are over-medicated to the point that they are dependent on her to make decisions for them. She prescribes five or six medications to be taken at ONE TIME! These patients suffer side effects, which Ms. Johnson either ignores or refuses to acknowledge.\r \r Cons: Over-prescribes psychotropic medications more

Loves to prescribe meds 4/3/2009

Evidently Rosa believes that medication is the key to success. Abilify may be her favorite. Side effects? She'll prescribe something to counter the side effects. Want to cut back or cut down? She won't think that's a good idea. A very good friend of mine suffered a serious fall as a result of the meds she was on. The fall was a gift from heaven, because then she was in good medical hands who knew she shouldn't have been on all that stuff. Fortunately she has recovered and has returned to the wonderful person she used to be. Suggestion: avoid Rosa like the plague. Cons: Overmedicates more

DO NOT SEE THIS THERAPIST! 4/2/2009

This therapist over-prescibes medications for her clients. She has no knowledge of medication interactions and several people have had serious side effects -- trembling, falling, shaking, incoherence, memory problems and many others. When her clients tell her about these side effects she does not acknowledge them. She should not be allowed to prescribe medications. \r \r REALLY, STAY AWAY FROM THIS THERAPIST! Cons: Medications prescribed more
