Burger joint in Mall of America 2/25/2008

I will say Johnny Rockets is the best burger you'll get in the mall of america. It is rather greasy but it's at least beef. They attempt to give the diner feel, but I think it was overshaddowed by the face that you are still eating in the food court of the mall. You shouldn't go out of your way to eat there but if you are looking to eat in the food court while shopping the mall, it is the best burger you'll find there. Pros: It's the best burger in the mall Cons: It's a bit higher priced then other burger places and it's in a food court more

This is a burger joint in the food court at the mall of america. Yet it has stature far greater than that. Don't get me wrong, it is still a buger joint, but at the same time it has a distinct un-fastfoody feel about it. They make a great, if greasy, burger here. The malts/shakes are pretty good but not great. DO NOT get one of their flavored cokes. They are expensive and not worth it. The ambiance is 50's motif. Frankly the constant din of camp snoopy and the 50's music they play wears on me. Some day I will go in with a roll of nickles and play the same song back to back all day just to get back at them. Overall, this is a great choice for a quick, reasonable lunch at the Mall. Seating is limited unless you walk out to the food court area. Pros: food, price Cons: ambiance, seating minimal more

  • In Short
Vintage Coca-Cola ads and posters of Life magazine covers succinctly summon up the 1950s, as do this diner's mini-jukeboxes, red vinyl counter stools and sock-hopping staff....
