nice place with beautiful people 8/31/2006

stop by this place after hearing about it through a friend, and went in for some drinks and appetizers.... the Appetizers were on par and i would imagine these would be cheaper had it been happy hour but the drinks were coming around like non stop with their attentive wait staff. Let me just say this for the single people out there, you do not want to bring a date here if you are a guy..because it seems to me that they only hire beautiful women here, as well as men but i dont judge men but if a guys eyes were wondering your girl may not like it. its a nice romantic place for a group or get together with friends like guys night out or girls night out but not for a date or anything like that....it would be hard not to look around and check out the staff. So all in all food on par, wait staff excellent, drinks were made to keep me in check so i would come back only with my guy friends. more

Decent happy hour spot 3/22/2006

As a place for "the beautiful people," Joey's fits the bill, especially in the waitstaff area. We went there for happy hour and had no problem finding a seat, or keeping a drink in front of us thanks to the attentive waitress. Will I make Joey's a regular spot? Probably not, but it's worth checking out at least once. more

High Class Hooters 3/7/2006

Another reviewer got it right when they called this place an 'up-scale Hooters'. I've only gone there once, and I don't think I'll be going back. I went there one day after work, around 5:00. Initially I didn't even want to go in. There was a Ferrari in the parking lot, which I don't take as a good sign. It's not that I was worried about the prices, but instead that my scene and the scene of dudes that drive Ferraris is generally very different. When we got inside, it wasn't so bad though. The place hadn't picked up yet, so that atmosphere was actually pretty nice. The food was a little expensive, but I liked the options. Yes, most of the waitresses are very attractive, but they weren't wearing lingerie, as mentioned in another review. The girls were not dressed inappropriately at all. I can see how women may not like being surrounded by a bunch of attractive waitresses that cause their guys eyes to wander. A bit later, when things started to pick up, it all went downhill. It started with the place getting packed with dudes, a whole bunch of dudes. The ones that either drive Ferraris, or really want to. Because it got so busy, our waitress was overwhelmed, and we hardly saw her. It got even worse when her manager, a guy with waxed eyebrows started waiting on us. He was too cheesy to deal with. It was at this point that I really looked around, saw the type of patrons this place drew, and realized that I needed to get out as fast as possible. If the place was like it was from about 5 to 5:30, I would probably give it four stars, but the way it turned out, brings that down to 2. It's the patrons that ruin the experience. more

Joey's is only for the desperate 8/30/2005

An extremely dark atmosphere and ditzy blond waitstaff wearing lingerie and ridiculous heels make it clear that this place is more concerned with selling sex than food. Drinks are priced as what you'd expect, service is attentive and friendly. Calimari appetizer is tasty, the crab-artichoke dip was strange with its inclusion of tomato sauce. Not really a pick-up opportunity, but decent for a date. Especially for a date whose face you don't want to see clearly. Or whom you don't want to be caught with. more

Great View 8/22/2005

This place is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is very very good especially the Ahi Tuna. On top of the great food the services is top notch. All of the waitress are very courteous, knowledgeable, and good looking in a classy way, not all hoed-out like at some other restaurants. Defiantly come here at least once to check out the view of lake union. more

Joey's is a feast for the eyes 8/16/2005

Joey's took over the Cucina Cucina on Lake Union and turned the brightly-colored interior into a modern, monochrome dining room and bar. The outside patio is still there and the best place to sit on a nice day. The food is good, but not great. The drinks are pretty standard. The reason to go is the wait staff that seems to have come straight out of your dreams. On a sweltering Sunday afternoon in August every waiter but one was actually a waitress, dressed in skimpy black clothing, and well aware of the reaction they were causing in Joey's patrons. Although our table was served by the lone male waiter he did his best to have our food and drinks delivered by women and even apologized to us for being a guy. Calling Joey's an up-scale Hooters isn't far from the truth, but I didn't leave with that cheap, dirty feeling that comes with Hooters. more

Joeys 8/8/2005

Cucina! Cucina! on Lake Union no more! It has now been replaced by Joeys, where the ambience and food are to die for. The view from the patio is beautiful, and the service is impeccable. The one draw back - no reservations can be made, and expect to wait awhile if you get there after 7:00. The bar is available while you wait, and make a note that anyone under 21 cannot sit out on the patio. Otherwise, check it out, it's worth it! more
