The best pizza I've had in Nashville!

You want some verbal abuse to go with that pizza? Maybe for christmas I'll buy them a book on hospitality. Damn!! what a strange experience. The pizza is not bad, but the atti...

Save the Shtick 9/4/2008

I?m from New York. I don?t appreciate poor service. New Yorkers expect great service! The disrespect shtick wears thin. We?re not hanging out of a cab, we?re just eating Lunch. Joey?s is trying to dupe the natives into believing average pizza and a rude staff is somehow a New York Style. Joey?s ain?t no Lombardi?s, Joey?s isn?t even a Ray?s, and ?There?s a Ray?s on every corner? in New York. The great pizzerias in New York have Coal Burning Ovens. I don?t see anybody in this town building a fire trying to be ?real?. Joey?s is tourist pizza. Pros: closed on Weekends Cons: Disrespectful Staff more

fantastic 9/3/2008

I went to Joeys not to long ago and let me tell you somethin its awesome! their son John made my pizza and it was absolutly delicious! me and my big'ol family ate it right up! watch out joey you have the next future of joeys takin over haha as always stephany is always uptight and rude chris was an angel her laugh cracks me up, the girl at the register i dont know if shes family she doesnt look like them but shes the cutest thing always smiling thats what everypizzaria needs after they pass the other girl on the line takin care of your food.\r And one more thing, for the comment below me ""soccermom"" if you want your food cold then dont expect them to put it in the oven to get warmed up and have you noticed all their pizza boxes stacked on the side, theyr not laying out, you missed out that food awesome, hell i would of eaten your silce.\r \r \r Thanks Joeys! we all love you! Pros: everything to your likinings Cons: the daughter, location..CLOSER TO COOL SPRINGS !! come back! hahaha more

Danger Zone Food Temp! 9/2/2008

I went to Joey's in Brentwood for lunch. I ordered a slice of pizza and they opened a cardboard box that was sitting out and pulled out a slice and ""freshened it up"" in the oven. This is a direct violation of Health Codes! If this is how they handle food I must warn people to beware. All food should not be stored at room temp. I didn't eat and won't eat there, so I can't tell you if it was any good. Pros: Close to work Cons: Food not stored properly more

Best Pizza I've ever had HANDS DOWN! 8/21/2008

This place is unbelievable. Their food is extremely tasty and the service is amazing. Al of their food is extremely good but the pizza is the best I've ever put in my mouth. I HIGHLY recommend anyone that hasn't been there to try it! I personally guarantee you won't be disappointed and you will want to go back. Pros: Food, Service, Environment, everything about this place is great! Cons: Can't think of any. more

It's delicious... 8/9/2008

This place was fantastic. Going when it's busy is a tad intimidating.. These people go 100 miles an hour and you have to be ready with what you want. We went for dinner a couples days later and the environment was more calm. The staff was VERY nice and very appreciative of feedback (which of course was EXTREMELY positive cause the food is so good!). The pizza was fantastic! Our next step is to take home one of their pizzas and cook it in our own oven. Joey's is great and we'll definitely be back. Pros: Great pizza, Good value Cons: The place is a little crazy at lunch... Small price to pay at a great restaurant though... more

Beyond rude staff 7/29/2008

I have been 2 Joey's 2x & both times I felt like it was such an inconvenience for them 2 serve me. Both times I went 2 pick up an order 4 my office. 4 pizzas, bread & salad. A big order if you ask me. The first time, when I called in the order, I asked 4 bread. When I got there, they didn't have any ready. The lady giving me my food said I hadn't ordered any. I replied that I had. She again said that I didn't. She asked me if I was the one who called it in & I said that I had. She told me they didn't have any bread ready so I couldn't have it & that I'd never asked 4 it when I ordered. I had, but regardless, instead of arguing w/me, she just should have started 2 make some. Finally the guy behind the counter put some bread in the oven. I then asked 4 an itemized receipt so I could submit my expense 2 my corporate office & she said they were out of paper & I couldn't have one. Her & her daughter started arguing about it & it ended w/her daughter yelling at her 2 just write a receipt w/everything on it. It's very uncomfortable 2 B in front of other people yelling @ each other. Today, again, my office wanted Joey's. I called in the order & I & a co-worker went 2 pick it up. We walked up 2 the cash register & told them that we were there 2 pick up an order. They were still working on it so we stepped aside 2 wait. The daughter then walked up 2 the counter w/two pizza rolls on a plate, looked @ us & said, ""Ladies, you're rolls R ready."" We thought she was talking 2 us & told her that that wasn't ours, that we were waiting 4 a 2 go order. She looked @ us & said, ""I am soooo aware of that."" Then, when we got our order, I made the mistake of asking 4 an itemized receipt. I asked the lady checking everyone out if she had a receipt w/everything I ordered listed. She said no & turned away 2 help someone else. No explanation or anything. It's bad 2 feel like such a burden 2 someone who is taking your money. The good food is not worth the nasty attitude & we won't order again. Pros: Good food Cons: Rude rude rude staff. Parking more

LOVE THE FAMILY!! Always good, fresh food. Being from Tennessee, never had New York Pizza until Joey's, well, it is the BEST!! The calzones are awesome and the lasagna is good. Also, the salad is always fresh and tasty! The atmosphere is family and I love it!! more

Best Italian Food, Best catering 5/21/2008

I recently had a luncheon catered by Joey's. I got double the food for 1/2 the price of the luncheon Panera catered the day before. Everything was incredibly delicious and got rave reviews. My guests commented it was one of the best lunches they have ever had in while in Nashville. The guest are here for two days every month and eat catered lunch every time. Bravo to Joey's! Pros: Delicious, quick, affordable more

Best NY style food in town 4/5/2008

You must walk through these doors with an open mind to a different culture - A New York culture. The food is great, consistant, and I have never been let down. They have the best ""slice of pie"" around. If you want a real treat that will make your taste buds wake up, try the pepperoini & suasage roll - WOW! If you have not been to NY and want to really experience the true NY resturant experience, this is the place to go. Joey and his wife really bring it home. My wife and I have been eating at Joey's ever since they opened and the only time we get food like this is when we go to NY. So what are you waiting for - Go, eat, and enjoy! Pros: Food, service, atmosphere Cons: Lunch time parking more

Excellent, My favorite food in all of Nashville. 9/25/2007

Slices are good, Order what is ready for best/fastest service. Calzones are to die for! mama and Joey are the best, ever.. a true NYstyle eatery. Pros: the FOOD Cons: parking and hours are an issue more

GREAT Pizza, Fun Enviroment; Family Friendly 7/12/2007

You cant get all this anywhere in TN, maybe not anywhere these days except at Joey's !! The Great pizza and the to die for pasta salad is excellent!! I have eaten at lots of pizza place s in TN, and Joey's is hands down, the BEST Everything about Joey's is authentic: the food, the attitude, and the atmosphere. Pros: Service; authentic; Fab Taste. Cons: Lunch Time Parking Issues, but WELL WORTH the hunt. more

I love Joeys! 6/25/2007

Joey's house of Pizza is the best Pizza I have EVER eaten, and I have been to New York. I even work at a pizza place but I still go to Joeys. The entire family is amazing. All such hard workers and funny loving people. Yeah they have different attitudes than most southerners but they are new yorkers! The prices are great, go anywhere else and try and get the prices lower with the same quality. The food is always wonderful and its a great atmosphere. Pros: EVERYTHING!! Cons: i can't eat there everyday more

Best New York style pizza in Nashville period!!! 6/14/2007

Being originally from New York, I've noticed that it was very hard to find great pizza in this town. That was until a few years ago I went to Joey's House of Pizza. I go at least 2-3 times a week for lunch and every time it is great. Never have I had a bad meal at this authentic New York style pizza shop. Even when I bring friends, co-workers, or business clients along for lunch they agree that it is some of the best pizza they've ever had. Besides pizza they have fantastic sandwichs, fresh salads, and specialty calzones as well. Also I like to go there because of the super fast service and the great atmosphere. The reason why the food is so good because it is not rushed and is made to order. I highly recommend this restaurant to all pizza lovers and guarantee you'll never eat papa johns or pizza hut ever again. Pros: Pizza, calzones, pasta, salad, sandwiches Cons: Nothing more

driving from nashville..AMAZING FOOD 6/9/2007

I recently visited Joeys as I was referred to by a friend, and i must admit I am now a regular. I come from nashville and really love the atmosphere that the pizzaria has to offer. It makes me feel like i am in NY.I also love the fact that it is family owned...most places nowadays you see different people all the time and at Joeys they know you by person and even know your name AND what you get to eat. I even have friends who come in the live in mt juliet!!!! I must say you have my business for years to come:) and stefany is wonderful Pros: service, atmosphere Cons: location..wish it was closer!!! more

Real Brooklyn Pizza!!! 6/6/2007

I can honestly say that Joey's is by far the best pizza I have ever had! The staff is amazing and did I mention they are all FAMILY!!! Its so funny to watch Chris and Joey argue in Italian.. I cant understand it but i like it!! BUT SERIOUSLY.... They have the best quality of food around. I have been a loyal customer since Joey's opened and can proudly say thanks Joey's WE appreciate you guys!\r Pros: excellent food, family friendly, great service Cons: closed on weekends more

Rude manager left me feeling quite angry 6/4/2007

I have never written a review on here, but my experience today made me feel it was necessary. My family has been eating at Joey's for years now. Their pizza is good (although not expecially consistant). We normally appreciate the New York attitude, as we are from New Jersey. Today, my father and I visited for lunch. When I asked for some to go boxes, a man behind the counter (who I'm pretty sure is Joey) yelled at me, telling me that I was getting paper bags because plastic is expensive. If we had ordered our food to go, it wouldn't have been more expensive, so what's the problem? When he handed them to me, I started to tell him that I wanted a box, and he looked me in the eyes and yelled, ""WHAT!?!"" I said it was fine, and we hurried up and left.\r I've never experienced a manager of a restaurant being so rude. My father and I left quite furious. This all happened when they had a flyer up asking customers to vote for them on Citysearch. Sorry guys, you don't get my vote, and you no longer get my business. Pros: Good pizza Cons: Rude service, inconsistant quality of food more

Best eggplant parmigiana - italian food in TN 4/10/2007

If you want great Italian food with NY friendly service this is the place. We love their eggplant\r parmigiana and their tiramusu. Great place for home cooked takeout food. We have also used\r it a number of times to cater dinner parties and everybody loved the food. The Italian salad is one\r of the best I had anywhere.\r \r Highly recommend Joey's and this comes from an experienced source as we eat out every night\r and know how hard it is to find healthy food that you don't get tired of and at a reasonable price.\r \r Check it out!\r Sammy\r Brentwood TN\r \r Pros: Best italian food around Cons: Location. If you don't hear aboiut it you may never know it exists. more

Great Food, irritating employee 3/15/2007

I had the pleasure of trying out the resturant for the firsttime yesterday. The food was really great, but my sore spot was one worker behind the counter degrading the cashier. She was pleasant to customers, but publicly humiliating to her coworker rather loudly. The poor cashier was almost reduced to tears. A note to the owners and managers: If you want to degrade your employees - do it out of sight of the customers. I wasn't the only upset by this. Pros: Good food Cons: bad employees more

Best pizza around! 3/2/2007

The phrase ""Oh my God!"" cannot begin to describe how wonderful Joey's is. I could not believe that the second time that we ate there, not only did they remember our last name, but exactly what we ordered from our first visit! Their pizza is definately authentic and insainely good! It is quite a welcome change from the commercialized cardboard that the chain restaurants claim to be pizza. I have reccomended Joey's to all of our friends and co-workers. Delicious! Pros: friendly, great food, reasonably priced Cons: not open on the weekend more
