A PLACE TO SEE OUR HEROES---YZERMAN,SHANAHAN AND NOW DATZUK 3/20/2006

My father had me convinced when I was a little girl that our television set could only get chanel 9---a canadian channel "Remember Hockey Night in Canada"??? At the time I missed alot of the Flintstones so I learned early to love hockey (rather join them). I am so proud of the Red Wings...they have been tremendous thruout the ninties until today!!! I've been down to the Joe to see the guys perform in person and the atmosphere while they are playing is totally awesome. The support and enthusiasm is catchy. What do you think Stevie Y., Can we bring the stanley home one more time before you retire???? My faith is with you guys. Thanx for making us proud to have yous in our city!!!!!!!!! more

Redwing home 11/16/2005

If you live in michigan how could you not like the joe, all the hockey events that they have plus the extras they hold. The seats are good and the parking is great if you get down there early. Everyone has a great time when we go. The people are just great and they just get you in a good mood. The employees are nice and professional. If you have never ever been to a event then you have to go. The place is great. more

Hockey games & more! 8/16/2005

Joe Louis Arena is a great venue, home of the Stanley Cup Winning Detroit Red Wings! Joe Louis also hosts many other events including concerts & Champions on Ice. An attached parking garage makes parking a cinch. There are also other parking garages in downtown detroit and you can take the people mover right to Joe Louis! Every seat has a great view of the game, and there's a large screen monitor where you can watch all of the action as well. more

Best hockey venue 8/8/2005

Joe Louis Arena - Home to the Detroit Red Wings. The name Hockeytown is most appropriate. It's always a great atmosphere with some of the die-hard hockey fans. Most games are alway sold to 3/4 capacity. If you're not into the game at least you can do a lot of people watching. This place is definitely the hangout as the games draw people as far as 2-3 hrs away to come down to the Joe. You can even watch away games on Joe Vision on the big video box. This is also one of the few arenas that sell the cheapest standing area tickets. The dedicated parking structure has more than enough space for all of the ticket holders. Also plenty of people park on the street a couple blocks down. Since the games are very popular, there are always tens of police officers at hand to see that people get home safely despite Detroit's crime reputation. If you're even visiting for just a weekend, make sure to go to a home game. JLA also hosts different concerts though the sound stage isnt that great. more
