I can't figure out why they say "It's really hot!" It's really not. 12/31/2005

Jing-Jing is a typical Chinese lunch destination for office-workers. It has an array of lunch plates that some regulars suspect are made in large batches and kept warm. One expects some spice-heat to the food but on all visits we have found it to be rather mild. On the other hand, we have never really had a bad meal here. If it's heat you want, go elsewhere. If you're on University Ave and in a hurry for lunch, you could do worse. more

Great Chinese food 6/23/2005

This place prides themselves on being hot and they are for sure. After eating their Mongolian beef, you may feel as though you can see through time. It can be crowded, but it's worth the wait. Be sure to try the Dan Dan noodles, which come in a spicy peanut sauce. more

Hot, Hot, Hot 4/21/2005

Jing Jing is everything you want in a Chinese restaurant. It's reasonably priced, the service is fast, efficient, and friendly; and the food is out of this world. Their orange peel beef makes you weep with its spiciness but also its perfect flavor and texture. The walnut prawns cool you down, and the hot and sour soup lives up to its name. The wait staff have been there forever and they pride themselves on knowing what regulars will want as soon as they sit down. It is a family restaurant in the truest sense of the word, and we make a bee-line for it whenever we're in the area. more
