American chain diners are a dying breed, populated with burned-out high school dropouts serving gritty coffee to chain-smoking seniors.
Not so with Jim's, which has managed to keep the great American diner alive, albeit in clothing that makes it hard to tell apart from Denny's and the ilk.
This location is especially well-run; the service is always speedy, the food is amazingly consistent and fast, and the coffee is served continuously. The breakfast tacos here are surprisingly good.
If you are looking for a late night carb fix, or a good old-fashioned diner brunch, Jim's is a great low-budget choice.
Pros: Fast, Cheap, Consistent
Cons: Kitschy
