Had a great time in Spokane 8/10/2009

We were visiting from Portland and had 11 in our party Saturday night. We had a great time. The security is tight, which is good. The music was awesome -- new stuff with a little of the best of old school mixed in. The service was great, the waitress very attentive. The food was excellent and you got a lot for your money. A couple of us ordered their gourmet pizzas and one person ordered the chicken strips. We visit Spokane at least once a year and will definitely come back to Jimmy'z. Hint: get there early if you want a table. Pros: service, atmosphere Cons: crowded more

Unsurpassable & cute bartenders to boot! 11/6/2008

We did not have the negative experience the other reviewers indicated. Perhaps it was because we were there on a week night (Thursday), but I don?t think so. Our two bartenders really went out of there way to accommodate us and the food was fabulous. More restaurants should offer pork shanks! The garlic rosemary fries were live jazz to my taste buds and my mouth is still watering with the memory. If I had any complaints, they would be the cozy, intimate, closed-off room and the exclusive upstairs area which was unavailable except for a price tag ($150). Oh yeah, my girlfriend thinks they should use duct tape on the outside reader board to mask some items which are no longer available...misleading advertisement, which as a wait staff person I would be tired of saying "Yeah, we don't have that anymore", ect. Kudos to this place and you should really give it a try - the happy hour is more than worth it: $5 for two fish taco and chips w/ salsa. The drinks were good too and the bartenders have a long four count...really long. more

The chimp exhibit at the San Diego Zoo could have done a better job here. 3/14/2008

Wow. I'm not sure if the owner got a tax cut for hiring this waitress or not, but he should look into it. That is, if he stays in business long enough. We walked in and sat down with our large group of friends. The gaggle of waitresses and bartenders did as little as look up at us and then go right back to the style of shoes "Mindy" was wearing that night. I eventually walked up to the bar to order drinks and was told by the bartender, rudely, that I would have to wait for my waitress. Roughly 20 minutes later, the bartender brought our waitress over. She was rude, screwed up our drinks in ways I didn't think were possible and then pranced off to be with her buddies again. The drinks were VERY watered down, the food was cold when we got it and we felt unwelcome. Watery Well Drinks: $5 Freezing Half Hour Late Hamburger: $12 Handing your waitress your tab with exact change: Priceless. Save your money and sanity, go somewhere else. Pros: Big Booths Cons: Everything else more

Not impressed. 3/13/2008

Horrible Service. The waitress was unable to keep drink/food orders straight. The first waitress looked at us twice and didn't come to serve us, but served others in our party. Drinks were overpriced. Other than the hot wings, the food was lack luster, tasted OK but nothing special. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the bartenders and the waitresses, as incorrect drinks were brought to us. (i.e Draft beer instead of a bottle, as requested.) Other staff were not accomodating, but came across as cocky and arrogant. For a newer establishment in town, the service certainly did not aim to impress. Pros: Hot wings. Cons: Everything else. more

Raising the bar on rudeness and incompetence 12/13/2007

Bad service ? bad management. The waitress couldn?t keep straight who in our group ordered what drink, and then expected my husband and I to pay for two drinks that were ?unclaimed?. The manager got upset, threw our credit card down on the table, and wouldn?t even apologize ? it was a mere $8 difference. It was unbelievably rude that a manager would expect a customer to pay for a waitress? mistake. They lack customer service skills. more
