Fails to meet your expectations 7/17/2010

Jimmy's Pizza fails to meet a consumers expectations for overall customer service, atmosphere, and taste. While the waitresses are friendly when they are at your table, they fail to keep your glasses full or to ask if you need anything else. The restaurant lacks integrity; don't leave anything of yours at the restaurant. You may call, they tell you they have it, and then it turns up missing. So, you will not only never see it again, but you may even be called by the owner and given excuses and possibly made to feel like you are inept. They also put no pride in preparing your food. During my experience, the food not only took an excessive amount of time to get, but when I got it (3 cheese tortellini) it was ice cold. Not only that, but another person with me ordered a pasta dish that ended up coming as noodles in water. There was nothing creamy about it. And finally if you are looking for a place where you can converse with other people & hear them, this is not the place for you. Unfortunately, acoustically, the restaurant falls short. Pros: pizza is moderately good, but greasy Cons: poor customer service, cold food, & loud more

My favorite Italian place - in the world 4/11/2008

Jimmys is my favorite italian restaurant, check this short version of reveiw:\r \r Stanwood institution By Anna Poole, Herald Restaurant Critic.\r \r This restaurant is exactly what it is a pizza place for families, with servers who really like what they're doing. According to our hostess, Jimmy's has been in its location for 17 years, and longevity usually gives a restaurant a self-assured feeling. For us, that self-assured feeling translated into being able to relax because we were in the care of experts. The menu focuses on pizza and pasta plus grinders and salads. My friend and I were really hungry for our recent Saturday lunch, so we ordered appetizers, pizza and pasta. For our appetizer, we picked the Mediterranean sampler. It's a large platter with feta cheese, a bed of fresh spinach leaves, mounds of Greek olives, pepperoncinis and lots of thick tomato slices. It's all lightly sprinkled with olive oil and we added salt and pepper. I had more olives than I could eat. Everything on the platter was fresh. My friend selected spaghetti with meat sauce and added a couple of meatballs to. ""Pizza"" is the other part of this restaurant's name. So, pizza and a beer for me. According to the menu, Stella Artois is the No. 1 beer in Europe. It's a lager that has been brewed in Belgium since 1366. It went well with the pizza. We had sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, black olives and mushrooms on our large pizza. The crust was a successful compromise between thick and thin. Usually pizza places are good at one crust but not the other, or at finding a middle thickness. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful as well as plentiful. My friend enjoyed my pizza as much as I liked his spaghetti. The meatballs were larger than expected and very good. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the sauce was filled with large chunks of meat. As she boxed our letover pizza and spaghetti, she smiled every time she came to our table, which was as delightful as was our perfect pizza crust. more

Avoid chicken fettuchini----too salty to eat! 3/28/2008

Staffers asked how we liked it and smiled when we said it was too salty to eat. It was Thurs. First time we'd went to this restaurant. The salad was mounded with a hill of cheese over lettuce only. If this is the best this area has to offer its sad. more
