I sincerely wish I had looked at reviews of this Jiffy Lube before I went for an oil change.
I recently inherited an old Jetta from my family. I took it in for a much needed oil change yesterday, September 23, 2011, at Jiffy Lube #1369. I am naive to what type of maintenance this car needs, and the staff at this location took total advantage of this fact. They convinced me that it was absolutely necessary for this car to use only synthetic oil, and did not even show me any the regular oil options. They showed me a filthy air filter they claimed was mine, and persuaded me to purchase a new one for $62. I spoke with my father later, who said that the filter they replaced was only a month old, and it only cost $5-$10.
On top of being ripped off, when I left I discovered my stereo no longer worked. My stereo worked completely fine, at optimal performance, before I went in for the oil change yesterday. When I took it in today to have the workers look at it, they took no responsibility for, told me it "wasn't their problem," and offered no apology. Given that I have not experienced ANY problems with my stereo up until I left Jiffy Lube yesterday, it is highly, highly, highly unlikely that it is "just coincidence" that it stopped working immediately after they worked on my car. Now I have to go somewhere else and spend more of my hard-earned money to fix they stereo that, due to Jiffy Lube's negligence, no longer turns on, or works in any fashion.
I am from North Carolina, in San Antonio for graduate school. I decided to go to this Jiffy Lube because it is .2 miles away from my apartment and the Jiffy Lube I have been to on a number of occasions in Cary, NC (#1458) has never been anything but courteous, helpful, and respectful towards me. THIS Jiffy Lube, however, provided me with terrible service and absolutely NO respect. I feel completely taken advantage of. Because of this bad experience I will NEVER go to ANY Jiffy Lube again, I have already told my friends and family to do the same. Spread the word.
