On a good day may provide adequate and average repair of jewelry if you are lucky. Has a very touchy, arrogant owner who gives the impression he believes he can't make a mistake....

Very Satisfied Customer 1/18/2010

I had a ring repaired because I had lost one of my diamonds. Tony offered to make me a deal on a quality diamond and make me a pendant from my old diamonds. They gave me a great deal and although I was brave enough to let him do my pendant sight unseen, I was thrilled at his craftsmanship. My ring turned out beautiful and I now have a one of a kind, made by hand pendant that is really beautiful. My experience with this company was excellent. Don't let the not so professional showroom fool you, behind those walls there are quite a few master jewelers workin there and they want you to come back. I know I will. Pros: Great Jewelry Makers Cons: Showroom needs updating more

Excellent Service 12/1/2007

My experience with The Jewelry Doctor was positive. Dan Curry gave a fair estimate of my existing diamond, which helped me purchase the proper diamond upgrade for my engagement ring. I will point out that large/mall jewelers were quick to offer a base exchange rate of $500 for my .5 princess cut stone for trade-in on their ""larger but equal quality"" stone. Dan Curry surprised me with an estimate more than 4 times higher, and stressed the true value could not be completed with the diamond in the setting. I would also like to mention the so-called equal quality stones pitched to me at the malls were all obviously lesser quality with occlusions and poor color to even me, the silly consumer. \r \r Dan was also excellent when providing services for the upgrade, taking time to research availablility of stones appropriate for my criteria. He then ordered several diamonds giving me the choice and the perfect match. Ultimately I feel his dedication to tailoring my needs as a customer resulted in a much higher quality stone in my ring. \r \r Let us not forget the workmanship in finishing the product. My ring is unique with stand-up baguettes on all 4 sides of the center diamond. There had been damage to the ring, buggering up the baguettes on one side. I had been told by several other jewelers this was a touchy repair, and many declined the work secondary to the risk of ruining the setting. In addition, adding the larger center stone complicated the repair. Happily I report the Jewelry Doctor jeweler was able to make a 100% satisfactory repair and upgrade to my ring. I might add this experience was nearly 2 years ago and my ring has withstood all wear and tear without any problems. \r \r My advice for upgrades and repair would be to avoid the mall and seek the experts at the Jewelry Doctor, downtown location. \r \r Melodie Gill, satisfied customer more

Will never Return 7/30/2007

On a good day may provide adequate and average repair of jewelry if you are lucky. Has a very touchy, arrogant owner who gives the impression he believes he can't make a mistake. He needs to be taught how to treat a customer with respect. When I thought that he hadn't sized my ring correctly and mentioned it in a very calm and collected manner, he overreacted becoming very huffy and raised his voice to the point he could be heard all over the shop saying he didn't appreciate that I was calling him a liar, which I never did. When I pointed that out, he got all the more huffy and louder insisting that I did call him one. He kept going on and on and on until we became the center of attention to the entire store. Regarding Ms. Gill's rating it should be noted that her experience is 2 years old and the location she talks about is downtown. The business I'm referring to and the address attached to this review IS NOT for the downtown Jewelry Doctor but for the Washington Street Jewelry Doctor. The downtown store no longer exists. Also the owner of the Washington Street store is Ronny Coleman not Dan Curry. Ms. Gill may have had good service with the downtown store 2 years ago, but my experience was 6 months ago and the person that provided her service was not the one who treated me and my jewelry so badly. I will never use again. Pros: Will provide same day service. Cons: Same day service requires payment when dropping off jewelry. Parking lot small and hard to get in and out of. more

BAD SERVICE 10/24/2005

I got a ring made from this place and when it was done, looked like crap. The funny thing is that they tried to make it right after 2 tries and failed. I do not suggest this place for any kind of jewelry making or repairs. They charge high prices for bad work. Go to a trustworthy jeweler not trying to hustle or over promise anything. There were already a lot complaints from other customers that have used them, did not listen and got burnt! I will charge this one to experience. I should have listen to the other jewelers in mall when they told me this place was bad news, there talk a customer's diamond was lost in the store and was never found. this is the old lost your diamond, got to get you a new one without any paperwork. Buyer beware. Pros: good parking Cons: high prices, poor service, too many complaints more
