Wow, I can't believe the vitriol in these reviews! We live in the neighborhood, and eat there fairly regularly. It's not amazingly great, but it's always satisfying, and we've never left unhappy. The potato pancakes are terrific, as is the mushroom barley soup, the matzo ball soup, and the chopped liver. The prices are on the high side, but the soup and half-sandwich deal is a bargain, and you get plenty to eat. The service is usually friendly and quick. No need to avoid it at all, and it's a pleasant place to be with people you like.
Pros: Good food, wide variety
Cons: A bit pricey.
