Dim Sum 10/21/2005

Of course you can't compare dim sum in Dallas to Houston's. But this place is pretty good and they have a large selection of dim sum. The place can get pretty crowded on Saturdays and Sundays for dim sum so try to get there early if you can. Their entrees are pretty good too. The pan fried noodle and tofu claypot is really yummy. more

not the best dim sum in town 8/10/2005

So they serve dim sum, they have those push carts with lots of different stuff and you pick whatever you want from the carts when they come to you. This place is crowded and they don't have very good service. Their food is okay, not bad for a dim sum place, they're probably second best or third in my book. Besides dim sum, you can also order from their regular menu. more

Thumbs up 8/8/2005

Maxim’s of Richardson, Texas offers a variety of choices for eating out. They serve traditional Chinese dishes ranging from Orange Beef to Steamed Clams. In addition to these, they also offer Hot Pot, which is likely to be a new approach to eating for many. Diners essentially cook their own food (generally seafood and raw meat) in boiling broth. It’s a fun, exciting experience every time. They also offer Dim Sum daily, which is great not only for casual dining but for business luncheons as well. It can get pricy though; however, be ready for a great time. more

Good Hot Pot 8/8/2005

Maxim's has wonderful all you can eat hot pot in the evenings - which is especially good during cold, winter evenings. The variety of food selection is good, though for a buffet it will cost you over $10 per person. I like it every once in a while, and if you're not a hot pot person, you can always order other good foods off of their menu. more

Daily Dim-Sum 8/2/2005

11a-2.30p - Daily Dim-Sum 11a-2.30p - Lunch buffet at 5.99 Monday-Friday (over 60 items) This Chinese Dim-Sum kicks all other Chinese restaurants butts. If you want really healthy Chinese steam dim-sum this is the place, cooked with good ingredients. Wish i ate there more often. You could get more variety and better quality ,light & tasty. The egg tarts here are great too. Must try it for yourself more

Editorial

  • In Short
Fast and affordable are the two calling cards of Jeng Chi in Richardson's Chinatown. The non-descript strip mall boutique is best suited for take-out and to go orders from a diverse selection of traditional Chinese. But it's the dumplings at Jeng Chi that stand out. The Jiaozi (dumplings), zhengjiao (steamed dumplings) and shuijao (boiled dumplings) are the most popular items on the menu while the fried potstickers and green onion pancakes will also do the trick.
