Great Salsa, Margaritas and Live Music/DJ 7/27/2008

I went to Jellys yesterday and had a great time. The DJ and Live Band sounded good and were very entertaining. The dance floor inside became packed, but there was room outside to dance. If your a beginner like me, don't be shy, there are more than enough willing partners who will teach you a few steps. The food was flavorable, tasty, authentic and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Jellys as a good start to the work week. The music starts at 4:00pm and continues to 9:00p.m. on Sundays. It was well worth the 10 dollar cover. Cons: No place to sit inside, but there is room to sit outside and restroom is very small more

Editorial
  • In Short
This classroom-size bar is reminiscent of an old dancehall: There's one hardwood dance floor and not much else. To the left, drinks flow from the long bar, while there is a tiny elevated stage for live acts on the right. The outdoor patio offers weekend brunch with views of Pier 50's industrial tugboats, but when the Cuban barbecue gets up and running on Sundays, patrons don't much care for the scenery as long as there's sun, sangria and supper.
