Cool stuff abounds 3/9/2011

Jaya has so much cool stuff! The staff is always friendly and its a great place to visit. Things are always changing! I love all their different accessories as they are very affordable. They have many beautiful pieces of furniture as well. Some pieces are large scale, but there are also many smaller pieces to fit into your home. more

I love this store 2/6/2010

I have purchased several pieces from Jaya over the years and they have been wonderful. They have been very helpful. Someone put a hot cup of coffee on the dining table and the people at Jaya told me what to use to get it out and even told me that if it didn't work to call them back and they would come out and see whatr they could do. When I bought a buffet, it had a feature that I didn't care for and they made a modification for me. I'm very please with what I have from them. more

Beautiful furnishing, great art and accessories 2/4/2010

Wonderful selection of antique farm tables - no one else in this town has the selection of tables that have character and age and at a reasonable price. Also, there is an interesting collection of accessories from Africa - drum tables. Good place to get a collected look for your home. Pros: Best selection of antitque farm tables Cons: none that I am aware of more

Impressive and enchanting! 12/20/2007

I recently purchased furniture and artwork from Jaya. It was a great experience from start to finish. Jennifer was able to guide me towards items that not only fit my needs and tastes, but will also work cohesively with my plan for the room. The expertise of the staff was immediately apparent and much appreciated. By far the best stop on a day-long shopping adventure-- I will certainly be back! Pros: Service, selection, location more

Jaya - A True Find for Home & Business Decore 12/20/2007

Jaya is an Austin Treasure! I've shopped all over town and ultimately I always return to Jaya for their selection, service and price. The sales staff is curteous, helful with measurements, and knowledgeable. I've bought items here in the past for my home and loved them, but I recently expanded my office and they had a great selection of furniture and decorations which worked for my new office space too! They even walked my new chairs and art out to my car for me! Pros: Selection (even art!) & service more

What you should know is that you can purchase some of the same items elsewhere around town for a far lower price. I had been eying a dining set in this store but was hesitant because it was so expensive. I managed to find the exact same set in a store just a couple of miles away for over 30% less. I would have felt a fool if I had purchased the set from Jaya. \r \r While their philosophy is a good idea in theory, the truth is a number of their products, although not all, can be purchased around town for much less money. And this isn't by stores that profess to Jaya's so-called philosophy. Makes you wonder about those artesians they employ in SE Asia. Stray off the beaten path and tucked away, you can find the exact same products for a much better price. Pros: location Cons: price, customer service more

Jaya Furniture and Accessories 5/24/2007

We have purchased items from Jaya & have always been disappointed with the customer service. They really act as if you are putting them out. The only reason we continued to go back is because we liked the merchandise. If there were another store carrying the same merchandise we would do our business there. We have found the owner of the store to be rude as well, maybe it trickles down? It is amazing that customers would receive this type of treatment when spending large amounts of money. I'm really baffled at the bad service, it just doesn't make sense to have such a beautiful store & such a sour staff. Pros: Nice Furniture Cons: Really bad customer service more

Great customer service! 8/5/2006

The customer service was excellent! A great selection of furniture that is environmentally friendly too. The most beautiful lamps in town. The parking was a little tough, but we found out that they also have a parking lot next to Cheapo's. A gem in Austin. Pros: Service, Selection, Consciousness Cons: Parking, No Headboards more

Wow! 9/1/2002

This store has some of the neatest furniture/accessories from the Asian countries that I have ever seen. Just walking into the store is like taking an exotic trip! The salespersons were friendly and helpful too. Thanks! Pros: Great merchandise, Helpful salespersons, Neat ambience more

Great Experience! 9/1/2002

Unique and beautiful merchandise. The sales associates were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely shop here again. Pros: Inventory, knowledge of staff, unique Cons: parking more

Why Frown? 6/6/2002

Very difficult to peruse this shop when the sales folks look so worried as we walk in the door. We've been twice, my husband and I , trying to furnish a new flat. A ""Good afternoon"" to the salespeople is returned with a worried frown as the salepeople exchanged raised eyebrows as we looked around - on two occasions! Why frown? more
