beautiful campus! 11/20/2005

I love this school's campus, the murals on the wall, nice basketball courts, gymnastics gym, etc. It's absolutely beautiful. All Union City students go here for high school so it's extremely big and there are tons of students. The sports at this school is at an extreme but educationally it is only ok. Go to this school if you want to excel at sports. more

This school is ok... 10/29/2005

Logan is a huge school, the campus is extremely beautiful and there is a great diverse population of students. Since all of Union City kids go to Logan for high school, there are tons of people there. This may be a good thing and a bad thing as fights can happen often but there are more people to 'hang out' with. Logan may not do extremely well academically but in the sports field it is one of the best! more

well you can't have everything... 10/25/2005

Logan's' a difficult school to review.i found only a few staff members i felt i could really trust there(Mr. carini,Mr. Lawrence,Mr. Malcolm, and coach cross). i was constantly at odds and ends with most of the other staff and some of the classes were not taught well while others really had the right teachers who knew their subject really well.the people there(i was always with what's labeled as "Goths" and "rockers", though labels are not what school is about...though a part of me thinks that anyway.i found my closest friends there and those few teachers i would trust with my life...but the rest were NOT that trustworthy in my eyes.it's an okay school all in all.i don't regret going there but i do regret mistakes i made while attending it. more

krazy 10/12/2005

Lots gangsters and people like that.... scary at first...its pretty big.... 4400 students lots of fights go on at this school I believe people have been shot and stabbed at the school. The forensics team is good. Watching football is fun. The environment is kind of scary lot of intimidation yea i would highly recommend everyone and any one to go to this highly versatile place, more

my ama mater high school 9/1/2005

Though I hear that the school itself has changed quite a bit since I graduated. But i'll just write about my own memories of the place. As corny as it sounds, "Diversity if our Stregnth, Unity is our Goal," was the perfect slogan for James Logan. With a population nearing 4000, we were so rich in diversity that all we needed to complete the puzzle was to unite as one school instead of dispersion into cliques. But, what do you expect from teenagers. Personally, I think the school was somewhat more united than we gave ourselves credit for, especially compared to other schools around us. more

Great High School in Union City 8/12/2005

Each K-12 school takes a government test called the STAR 9 or CAT 6. A couple years ago, the percentage of students doing well compared to other high schools in the Bay Area was VERY LOW. But over these past years, the school as set a goal to raise that percentage and each year they have gone past their goal and all the students have been doing alot better. more

Great High School in Union City 8/12/2005

Although there are some downsides to James Logan, like the gang fights, they have on-campus gaurds to keep all the students safe. They also have closed campus lunch so that students will not cut class. The staff is very caring as they try to stress the logo "Diversity is our strength, Unity is our goal" so they have students joing in on class discussions about trying to make the campus better and creating things like the "no hat rule" to lessen the gang activity. Logan has great extra curricular activities like band, choir, forensics (speech and debate) and many sports to keep students involved in school. more

Great School! 8/10/2005

James Logan High School is a wonderful school. My whole family went there and they all moved on to the Ivy leagues. They are all now multi-millionaires so I highly recommend this great school. They have an arsenal of world famous teachers such as the band director, Ramiro Barrera, and the forensics teacher, Tommy Lindsay. more

one and only 8/7/2005

Logan High School is the sole public institution in all of Union City for highschool-aged teens. For this reason, all of the funding that would normally go to different highschools is directed at just one. That can be a good thing, as it is upkept well and still looks new and sturdy in appearance. It's white stucco walls are made of modern materials and compliment the surrounding suburban residential area. Academically, the school suffers from severe overcrowding and attempts to alleviate some of it by incorporating the block schedule system, half the students attend school during opposite periods and holidays are also taken in turn. Most students enjoy attending Logan because it is so diverse and has many different kinds of activities to offer. more
