The Dr. is fine, but the staff is incompetent. \r I went in with an eye infection so I had to wear my glasses. The Dr. told his assistant to adjust my frames. When she did she broke them in half at the bridge. She then tried to blame me by asking if I sleep in them and called my glasses cheap to start with. They were not cheap! Since I had an eye infection I could not wear contacts. When asked what they were going to do to fix my glasses they said they couldn't do anything. I told them that was not acceptable, so they said they would try to weld them back together and call later in the day when they are fixed. They never called, so I called the next day and they said there was nothing they could do. You have to be kidding me!!!!!!! I let my husband talk to them. He asked if they could get a cheap pair of throw away glasses that would just work for the time being. NOPE!!! They weren't willing to even look. I caught them in multiple lies and not even one person apologized. My husband went to pick up the broken frames the next day so he could do a temporary fix on them and they magically found a pair of frames that would kind of fit the lenses. So they gave us a ghetto rigged pair of frames with gapes between the lenses and frames and said that's all they were willing to do. \r THIS IS UNREAL TO ME!!!! more

IF YOU HAVE VSP, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE 6/23/2010

As far as the doctor and his staff go, they are adequate. They are friendly enogh and the office comfortable enough but if you have VSP insurance, I DO NOT reccommend utilizing this location as a primary eye care physician. The lenses are expensive and there are not many to choose from. If you have VSP insurance, you may as well go to Lens Crafters and it will cost you less. In a world where you can obtain lenses in 1 hour, I feel that a week or more to get glasses is a bit out the realm of realistic expectations. Also, beware of seperate exams. My wife and I went for glasses and contact lenses and apparently, there is a sepereate charge/fee for an ""eyeglass exam"" and a ""contact lens"" exam. Don't get suckered into this, we spent 700 dollars for 2 pairs of glasses (not even designer brand) and left with no contacts. Do yourself a favor and go to sears and get 2 pairs for 100 bucks. Pros: Good Doctor Cons: Insurance coverage is TERRIBLE more

Kind, Caring, and Competent 2/2/2009

Dr. Winter has a great bedside manner. I went in for an eye infection. I am nervous when it comes to my eyes being poked and prodded, which can make me a difficult patient. He talked me through every step and before I knew it I had a script for antibiotics and was on my way. I didn't even flinch. I am going back to get my vision tested in 2 weeks. I would recommend Dr. Winter to anyone who is sensitive about their eyes. Plus I only waited 5 minutes to be seen. Pros: Excellent bedside manner Cons: They don't accept Assurant Health insurance more
