My son had a fire in his house. James B. Nutter did everything they possibly could to hold his money. The customer service personnel would answer the phone and then leave him on hold and never respond to the call. They hired inspectors that was incompetent. The reports would miraculously never be turned in. This was a way to hold up the money. All they was trying to do was make more money on interest. A horrible company to do business with. We are considering hiring an attorney because of all of the run around we are getting. I will never use this company again. more

Awesome Experience 9/26/2012

After many struggles with trying to refi my home, I reached out to JB Nutter, after receiving a letter. I was successful in closing in a very short amount of time with no closing costs at all (not rolled in either). I must say that doing a closing at my own home, at a time that was convenient to me was very nice too! Since closing I have recommended JB Nutter to several people, all who have also had a great experience. The only complaint that I have at all is that their website sucks! You can't easily check your balance, payment history, statements, etc. more

Company with a Heart 10/10/2010

For a refreshing change, this company invests in its community and has revitalized part of downtown Kansas City. "Nutterville" is a wonderful neighborhood of updated old homes with beautiful flowers. The no-frills attitude, straight language, and low overhead allow this mortgage company to offer the lowest refinances and mortgage rates around. more

Worst Company I have ever dealt with 2/19/2010

In my opinion, the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a mortgage company. I would never use these people again. They are ruthless. They call from blocked numbers. You might get the best rate from them, but that's where the smiles stop. more

The best mortgage place around. 8/12/2005

James B. Nutter, strange name, great mortgage company. Nutter is a no nonsense mortgage company. They don't charge ANY closing fees, are headquartered, and have their only office, in KC, and keep good old fashion Heartland values. We got an excellent rate on our mortgage, the staff was easy going and easy to deal with, and offer their services to people outside KC, too. You won't find a better deal anywhere else. more
