My wife and I went to this restaurant and gave a try through a deal on Travelzoo. We got disappointed from the beginning to the end.\r
First, they did not want to take reservation on the phone, yet it was required on Travelzoo voucher on the weekend. Second, we arrived at 7:45pm and were directed to the bar upstairs without any estimate of waiting time, at 8:45pm still nobody came and called us, I had to go down and asked when we could expect to be called and were promised to be called shortly. Finally, they called us at 8:55pm and when we got downstairs and saw that was not crazy and a lot of tables were empty, we did not understand why we had to wait more than 1 hour (probably it was a restaurant strategy to push customers to spend money at the bar). We started ordering our foods and got served pretty quick (unfortunately, it was the only and unique positive point of our dinner). The food was just whatever and the desserts were awful we ate 2 spools of each and left the rest behind. I already got Creole food much better than that before, the service was standard with the waitress serving us without any special attention. So we tried to finish our food on the table as we did not want to bring home and throw away the next day. We paid the bill and left around 10% of the total of the bill that we thought correct for the service received. We were about to leave then we got a bonus of the dinner... Guess what... The waitress came to us and asked if the service was OK, so we just said Ok to be polite, Then she started complaining about the tip as it should be at least 20% of the bill, she made sure to talk very loudly to make us embarrassed. We were not but just got shocked of what we heart from this waitress, it was the first time of my life to see somebody attacked the customers this way for tip. The tip is not a debt that the customers have to pay or something, there should not be any rules for the tip but eventually some suggestions. For me you are happy you leave the tip, you are not you can give nothing. Period.\r
I was so mad of this aggressive attitude and wanted to talk to the owner but my wife just wanted to leave and added 2% more to the tip. I told her that she wated money as this awful waitress will still not happy anyway, she wanted her 20%. I would take back the whole tip as I was so angry.\r
So it was our first and probably last experience with this restaurant. If you want to enjoy great food and service, avoid this awful restaurant.
