I grew up in San Antonio and throughout my lifetime have lived all over the world; but when I come home to Texas I have to have my Jacala.

Worst

We used to dine at this restaurant maybe once a month, forgiving the tasteless beans 'n rice, and greasy, mushy "puffy tacos" because the cheese enchiladas w/carne were so delicio...

There is a reason Jacala has been around this many years! Great food, pretty restaurant and very eclectic! Our family has been eating there since before I was born and now I take my children! more

Great food, Great atmosphere 8/31/2005

This is hands down the best mexican restaurant that I have ever eaten at. The quality of the food is high and is consistant. Your favorite dish will taste just like you like it visit after visit. The atmosphere is great and they even have a mariachi band for those that enjoy a taste of local culture. more

Best Mexican Food in San Antonio 8/6/2005

Jacala is a family owned restaurant and has been around for 50+ years. I've been going there for about 10 years and the quality and service are and have always been outstanding. The chile con queso, enchiladas, puffy tacos, and margaritas are all to die for. Their waitstaff is always coming by to see if you need refill or anything else - I always have a great experience when I go there. It's one of my favorite places to take out-of-town guests, as well. more
