I called J&K at the beginning of the June to get some info about our TV that wasn t working. I was told that they did indeed service our area and that it was a $59 service call but that the $59 was applied to the bill if you ended up getting the TV repair done. Gus showed up and went to work on my TV on June 10th as scheduled. He diagnosed the problem to be a power supply. As we discussed pricing, he said the service call was $99. I told him that isn t what I was told but no problem because it was going to be applied to the repair anyway. Then he said it was not because I do not live in their main service area and that the service call can be made to be $79 but not applied to the repair. So I got a little ticked and faced with a 400 TV repair, I just told him to never mind, I wrote him a check for $79 and told him that I would be certain to post reviews about my poor experience with his company. He tore my check up and said, I don t want to have a mad customer. I told him, I m just trying to understand all the things I was told and how they were different but really by the time we looked at his estimate, we were arguing over about $60. He called and found a refurbished part and so still a little uneasy about the way things had gone, allowed him to take the TV. He said it would be returned to me at the end of the week and I told him could he bring it middle of next week as we were going out of town that Friday. He said fine. The next week, as Friday late afternoon rolled around, I never heard from J&K electronics. I called and it went to voicemail and I left a message (the shop may have already closed by that time). That was Friday 6/14.\r \r On 6/17 I called and my TV was not fixed yet, but it would be done by Wednesday...I told the customer service person that it wasn t what I was told and could Gus please call me. No call came. I called on Tuesday and again, Gus was not available and he would call me. He did not. On Wednesday 6/19 I recieved a call saying my part was in. I asked to speak to Gus and he was not available and did not return the call. On 6/24 I was told my TV was done and FINALLY Gus called me. I told him I was unhappy with nothing being done as he said it would be and he told me he would deliver my TV the next week on 7/3. I told him that wouldn t work as we had a party scheduled for 6/29 and needed the tv. He told me that he was booked up and his million dollar install couldn t be put off for one little TV. I was livid #$%$! I told him that I would be down to pick up my TV the next day. At that point, Gus started telling me about a band across the top of the screen that must have been there before he picked it up where the picture is distorted. Aside from the TV being hard to turn on, there was NOTHING wrong with the picture prior to me sending it with Gus. So now, I ve paid over $400 to fix a tv that came back in worse shape than when it left and because the owner couldn t be bothered to deliver one little TV, I had to take an hour of my time to go pick up his TV (which they didn t even discount the fact that they didn t deliver it after Gus made such a big deal about how the service call paid for the fact that I was so far out of his normal service area. After this experience, I started looking at the reviews online about J&K Electronics and while I didn t do so before I called them, I wish I had because it s filled with people who had nearly the same experience as I did. Gus is a nice guy I think, but runs a #$%$ business.\r \r I have opened a complaint with the BBB, but it's obvious from their file that it's not that unusual for them to get complaints to the BBB and not resolve it. more

My lamp went out in Feb. 2013 called j&k they came to replace my tv lamp 2 days later, same lamp that I got replaced that costed me 300.00 is now not working, it went out in Jun.2013 called to see if they could replace my lamp and the receptionist said that it was probably a module by the lamp that was making the lamp not function, she kept giving me excuses like it was my tv, and that the lamp had a 3 r 6 months warranty but what new bulb is going to go out within 3 to 6 months. So I asked to speak to the manager she stated that she was the only one in the store, and I made numerous attempts to call and every time she always tells me that they want be in until the next week, for a whole month that's what I been getting... So buyers beware... more

Ok so I havent been here yet but I did have a extremely horrible experience with another repair shop and now I am abit nervous for them to actually even take a look at my tv since most of the reviews have been negative and the same issues that I had with the other repair shop but on a positive note the man that answered the phone seemed very nice but on a side note I will review again if I decide to go with J&K more

New Samsung LED TV 2/6/2012

Just purchased a new 55"" Samsung LED TV from J&K. Not only did I get a great deal, Gus personally delivered and setup the TV AND, removed my old humongous Mitsubishi 55"" rear projection TV(down a crooked flight of stairs no less...). Couldn't be happier with the sales & service!\r \r If you're in the market for a new HDTV, give Gus a chance to make you offer. I don't think you'll be disappointed. more

Worst service ever 6/27/2011

This place is so terrible! We called them out to fix out tv 2 weeks ago. They ordered the part, and would be back in a week. A week later we had to call to figure out whats going on. They scheduled to come out. They came out, but only to tell me that they had ordered the wrong part. Since it was their mistake, they would overnight the correct part, and be back. My husband and I both have called and left several messages with the company since then, with no calls back. The 2 receptionists have no clue whats going on, and have no problem telling you that. And asking for the owner does no good, because they will tell you he's not available, but will call you back. Obviously, there is no call back from them. This is now day 13 and my tv is no closer to working than it was before we made the terrible decision to call J & K Electronics! more

Avoid this shady company 6/16/2011

My 61"" Samsung DLP went out June 2010. I called Samsung and they referred me to J&K Electronics as an authorized repair center. Before calling, I did research and knew that the lamp had gone out. I also discovered that Phillips brand lamps are preferred as the have a much longer life span than the other lamp brands (3-5 years compared to 1-3). So, when I spoke to J&K about the issue I repeatedly demanded the Phillips lamp, which they reassured me is what they used. They also stated the life span as a reason for them using this brand. I was at work when the tech came by to install. My wife asked the tech to confirm once again that they were using a Phillips lamp to replace the burnt lamp in out tv. The tech showed her a Phillips box (he even left the box with the old lamp) and did the install. I got home and the tv looked great, bright as the day we purchased it new. Exactly one year, almost to the day, our lamp goes out again. I decide that I can repair this and order another Phillips lamp online without the housing. When I pull the lamp installed by J&K, it is not a Phillips, but is an OSRAM made by Sylvania. All J&K has to say about this is that Sylvania is a good lamp. Not the point. Avoid this company! They are shady, sneaky liars. I have also informed Samsung of this in the hope that they will not refer other customers to this dishonest company. more

Do not trust their pricing 2/20/2011

I called and received a price for hanging a tv with a special bracket. They gave me the price and when they arrived they unpacked my tv and then told me that the pricing was wrong. They expected to run wiring or find some way of raising their price. I already had the wiring in place and the installer called the owner who told me too bad. He claimed that I misunderstood the pricing. The pricing was only good if they did wiring (which would have cost even more). I told them to leave. more

Worst service ever 12/28/2010

We fought with these people for about 2 months to get our tv fixed and nothing was done! They never call back and they leave you on hold for a long time. After 2 months of trying to get our TV fixed they informed us that they couldnt help us because they could not order the parts from panasonic! They told me i, myself had to call panasonic! So i did. They refered us to another TV repair shop and they were so helpfull! Our TV was fixed in a week and they let us borrow a TV while ours was getting fixed! Stay away from J &K more

The owner is very friendly but does a terrible job of communicating what is going on. It appears as though this place is not organized. I cant recommend their services because they could not fix my problem, but going into it, it was probable that it would not get fixed. After reading the reviews that were not favorable, I would tend to agree with them. Too bad because trhe owner seems nice. more

You will regret using them 6/29/2010

My saga is not over yet, but so far it's gone teribly bad. Process of repairs started 17 days ago and still TV is not working. I required in home service on my DLP TV. \r 1) Used the service request form on the company's Internet page. After two days with no response, called them on the land line.\r 2) Decribed problem to J&K employee and they explained there was an $89 fee for a technician to make a home call and assess the problem. That's not unreasonable, so I agreed.\r 3) Had to make a follow-up call couple days later to inquire about when a technician could come to my house\r 4) Technician showed up and didn't look at TV, but rather diagnosed problem from my description of the problem. OK, that trip could have been saved, and it would have been OK to collect the $89. I wouldn't have had to leave work.\r 5) Parts were ordered, and then I had to make a couple follow-up calls days apart to get status update. Had the feeling I would still be waiting except for those calls.\r 6) Technician shows up to execute repairs, but alas it's not the right parts. How did that happen? They used the TV's serial number to order from the Manufacturer.\r 7) After several follow-up calls, Technicain is scheduled to make a house call today.\r 8) Stay tuned. Pros: None so far Cons: Unorganized, unreliable, inefficient, poor service more

Happy for Suzie, BAD for me ! 11/12/2009

No stars. Took $300 of my money to ""order parts"" for my 4 yr old 50"" Samsung. 16 days later I called to see if they were 'ever' coming back. Oh, sorry, the parts are here. Have no idea why someone has not been back to you. We'll be out tomorrow. We'll call between 9am and 9:30 to let you know what time. OK..I'll stay home. At 10:30 I had to call them. No one has called. Held for long time. Oh, somebody messed up and scheduled you for tomorrow. I have oral surgery tomorrow. You said today. Held again. Sir the technician will be in your area 'today' so if you can be home between 4pm and 7pm, he will be there. Fine. Here's my cell and my home numbers. I leave work at 3pm...remember I had not gotten there after 11am waiting for them. I come straight home. Waited from 3:30 p.m. until .........all night, an nobody ever called me or showed up. I left a message for them at 8:30 p.m. Not even the courtesy to call me. Ruined my entire day. Set is still not fixed. They still have my money, and now it's another day later.\r I'm still waiting, and I am MAD. Service ???What's that at J&K. GREAT SERVICE 9/6/2009

was totally panicked when my 2 year old tv died at 2 in the morning. After reading several negative reviews of several tv repair companies, I was daunted by the task of finding a reputable company to come and repair my beloved television. I spoke with Samsung (the manufacturer of my tv) as well as other local and national companies in addition to j&k electronics...j&k Tech got back to me first (I left a message at 2am and they called me at 9am that same day) and had someone at my apartment within 2.5 hours. In addition, after I described the problem, they quoted a repair price over the phone, which was less expensive than the other quotes I received subsequently. The technician was professional and quick and happily I'm already back to normal. I would HIGHLY recommend j&k electronics Pros: AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE Cons: NONE more

Awful service 8/18/2009

They never call back and when you call they always put on hold for long time and they give the runaround! I wasn't informed about tv till I had to go ask in person. They couldn't even locate my paperwork. I had to wait for tech to look at my tv while I was their. Even though my tv had been there for 6wks. The owner & manager has no class. more

Great service, even though redlined by Sanyo 5/26/2009

Four months ago I purchased a 42""flat screen from Sanyo. After one month of blaming the cable, I finally succumbed to Sanyo. Considering that Sanyo is supposed to be a technological firm, Sanyo corporate only communicated by fax and the longest damn recorded messages to J&K. Anyone who has ever blamed J&K for lengthy waits probably needs to check their manufacturer. Anyhow, these people were polite, dependable and on time. Worst Service EVER!!!!! 3/29/2009

Stay away from this shop. The service technicians are inexperienced and the owner is unethical. \r After a week of having my TV repaired, it quit working. I made several appointments to have it looked at again, however nobody ever showed up. The owner insisted that someone showed up, however I was home all day.\r It is now almost 6 months later, and my TV has still not been repaired. Cons: Inexperienced Technicians more

Awesome service, price 1/15/2009

If you have a difficult Hardware Tech problem, go see these guys! They fixed a DVD player that ONLY worked in conjunction with a TV in less than one day! In addition, it cost about 25% of what the manufacturer was going to charge me. Cameras, TVs, DVD Players, etc. if they're broke, bring them here first! And note, Really, get all your broken gadgets and see if they are worth fixing, you won't be disappointed. \r \r Pros: Everything more
