Editorial review from Citysearch 2/27/2013

Beware & avoid this business. \r \r I don't enjoy writing negative reviews and much prefer a glowing positive. Yet due to my experience at this business, I felt it necessary to warn fellow consumers accordingly.\r \r I've purchased several pieces of fine jewelery here. My last transaction was a diamond anniversary ring. Jeff was great & very helpful during the entire selection process. He painstakingly showed me several stones, and settings. He taught me how to use a jeweler's loop (magnifying glass) and what to look for in a diamond. It was a good and informative process.\r \r I chose a stone, and a setting and had it mounted. Jeff said it would be ready the following Saturday (our anniversary). When I returned to pick up my purchase as scheduled Jeff wasn't there. I was told by the woman he would be out for the rest of the day. She was busy with another customer but remembered me and knew I was picking up the ring. I gave her my slip, she handed me the box, I opened it to see the finished product and went on my way.\r \r Before I presented the stone to my wife, I wanted to take another look at the ring. Upon closer inspection of the ring at home with a magnifying glass, I noticed a chip missing from the bottom side of the stone! I returned to the store Monday morning to speak with Jeff. He seemed like a different person - like Jekyll & Hyde. Jeff went off a tirade saying he wasn't responsible. He was extremely aggressive and rude. I was shocked. I actually felt as if he was going to become violent with me. I can defend myself but knew this wasn't the place for a fight and the best way to defuse this situation was to leave the store. I called back after he calmed down. Jeff said I should have waited for him to give me the ring (the classic Catch 22). Jeff said he would not consider any further remedies.\r \r I will never patronize this place again. more

phenomenal jewelry store 8/10/2009

I love this store. My fiance had my engagement ring made there, and it is so unique, so beautifully made, and I get compliments on it SO often. The owner, Jeff, made me feel confident every time I consulted with him when I went back to design my wedding ring. I consulted MANY times, and everyone was incredibly patient with me, even though my wedding ring was not so extravagant and not such huge business for them. I price compared with Pave and another jeweler on college, and they were three times and twice as much as Sahadi for the exact same order, respectively. They have also fixed jewelry for me, and once told me when something I asked to be repaired was beyond repair, so as not to charge me for something they couldn't make right. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and encourage you to see for yourself, and disregard negative reviews on this site. Sahadi is the best jewelry gig in town, hands down. Pros: excellent service, talented designers, reasonable prices more

Best Jeweler Ever 5/5/2009

I have been going to J Sahadi for years and have been extremely happy with the craftsmanship, the honesty, and the service. Jeff made my wedding ring and those of many if my friends. I couldn't be happier with his work and have recommended him to many happy customers. more

Worst customer service EVER! 3/27/2009

I'm *appalled* by the treatment I have received at J Sahadi Jewelers. I've been a customer three times and I have had shockingly bad customer service. The first time, as a new customer, I was on the phone and we were discussing our repair options and costs. From my perspective, this was a pleasant conversation about what the best choice was. The woman put down the phone but not down enough apparently, because I heard her say,""the customer is quibbling about price."" When she came back, I simply said, ""I could hear you,"" and she was embarrassed. I received an apology from another woman at the store the following day so I decided to let it slide. My second experience was fine. The third and last was when I brought in a piece to be repaired. They had it for two weeks and couldn't figure out best to repair it. They gave me a price (very high and it included drilling a hole into my bracelet...yikes!) and I called the next day to arrange to pick it up. They seemed surprised that I wanted it back and said, ""Oh no, you weren't supposed to hear that quote. Um, we'll call you back."" I waited another week and then called to let them know I was leaving town in 4 days and needed the item back for the trip. The day of the trip they called to let me know it wasn't in yet and may not make it back to their shop due to traffic. I was disappointed and told them it was very important to me that I have it for my trip and if they could see what they would do. They said they would try and would call me later. A few hours went by, I was busy with work and family, and I had at that point assumed I wouldn't have it for the trip. Then, at 6:30 in the evening, I got a call from the owner. Here's what he said: ""We've been waiting for your for two hours. Come get your bracelet. You may never shop here again."" Huh, what?! It seems that they had left me messages that I hadn't retrieved, and suddenly I was fired as a client? I raced over there to pick it up and, with my two little girls standing next to me, I was spoken to in the most horrific manner EVER by anyone. I had simply not checked my voice mail and was treated with complete disrespect, no, worse. The owner was at the front telling me to go away for ever and the woman behind the counter was barking obscenities at me. ""That man was mean, Mama,"" my 6 year old said when we got back in the car. Yes, honey, yes, he was. Pros: Good location Cons: Everything else more

Don't use this business!!! 1/18/2009

I had a braclet that was in my family for 25 years. The clasp need repair so I took to someone in the area I do business in. I picked the bracelet up on 1/15/09 and as of 1/18/09 I no longer have the braclet that not only had sentimental value you it had $$$ value. It fell off so now someone else who ever finds or found it has the bracelet. In twenty five years it never came a loose, in three days of pick up from the repair I no longer have something that I wore because it belong to someone that I loved who is no longer here. It's not the value of the braclet or the cost of the repair that has me so upset, it belong to someone who I dearly love and now that gone too. Clearly I would not use J Sahadi Jewlers again I will tell anyone I know not to use there services for anything. I am so angry and upset, that I took it to them rather than the other places friends had recommend. The only reason I took it there was because they were in a business area that I frequent and I want to support the local business in that area. more

Dishonest - stole the hands off my watch!!!! 4/24/2008

I took a 1920s wristwatch in for a cleaning. An employee called me with a list of things and what it would cost, except he mysteriously couldn't read the handwriting of the last item on the list - but he assured me that these were all necessary for full repair. I approved the repairs, foolishly trusting. When I went to get the watch, the beautiful ornate original hands had been removed and replaced with tacky ugly plain new hands that didn't match the style at all. This totally ruined the look of the watch of course. I was very angry, but the clerk said I had approved this - and she showed me the list. It was easy to read, contrary to the other guy's claim he couldn't make it out. They claimed the hands had been all rusted and were already thrown away so they could not be put back. But they had looked great, no visible rust at all, much less enough to make them useless. I believe there's a market for those beautiful hands and they took them and sold them and replaced them with the ugliest, cheapest hands possible. So they totally ruined my watch. more
