J.P Licks is my favorite 5/5/2006

I like Herrell's too in Harvard Square but J. P Licks is my favorite. Herrell's sometime has a few weird flavors and just does too much with the ice cream. While J. P. licks sticks to the basics and they have more choices. Love it! more

It's almost summer time and we all know what that means...Ice Cream! 4/16/2006

Ever since I moved to the Boston area, I cannot walk by a J.P. Licks without having a desire to stop and have a small cup of ice cream! At first it started out with the soft oreo cookie yogurt, I then switched to the new "Oatmeal Cookie" hard yogurt. I was having a bad day last summer and decided that I was going to splurge, chocolate chip real ice cream in a chocolate dipped wafer cone with sprinkles! Ohmigod. Do I even have to say any more? It is the best ice cream that I've ever had and since that day last summer, I have to have the real ice cream. Although the yogurt is fantastic, the real stuff is to die for! You can go wrong on an order from J.P. Licks. I've been to many of the area stores and at each place I am greeted with fantastic service and I always leave with a smile on my face. more

J.P. Licks on Newbury Street is a nice hang out 3/30/2006

J.P. Licks, as usual, is a great hang out place for young Bostonians alike. At certain times, there is a long line but don't worry, the line moves very fast. There is a variety of ice-cream flavors. My personal favorite is oreo coffee ice-cream. Yeah, it sounds like a lot, and it is! This is the happening place when the weather gets warmer, and Newbury Street is packed with shoppers from MA. The staff is pretty friendly. more

Yum 3/19/2006

JP Licks has a great variety of ice cream and frozen yogurt at their Boston-based stores. The one on Newbury Street is very convienient and the perfect place to stop on a hot day after shopping in the area. My favorite are their fat-free frozen yogurts in flavors like peanut butter and maple nut. You can be sure to fit into the clothes that you have purchased, but still enjoy a tasty treat. The ice cream here is very good- though calorie and fat laden. The topping selection and the service are also top notch. The perfect treat. more

Top Notch Ice Cream Parlor 3/10/2006

I definetley recommend this ice cream parlor. They serve many differnt types of ice cream ranging from your typical vanilla and chocloate to more exotic flavors such as mango. The ice cream here is great as is the atmosphere and the "feel" of the location. The prices are not bad either. I definetley recommend it. more

The Best Ice Cream in Boston! 10/8/2005

If you love ice cream this is the place to go. I bring all of my out of town guests here for a Boston treat and they always leave pleased (and full!). It is conveniently located right around the corner from the Hines Convention Center T stop. Once you enter, it feels like a cross between an old style ice cream shop and a kids playground. There are cow murals everywhere and the counter is decorated like a cow. For kids, there is a cool amusement ride booth to sit and enjoy their ice cream. For others, there are seats and booths. The staff are always friendly and will let you taste any flavor that you are curious about. They have the wafer, sugar and waffle cones as well as all of the many sundaes you can crave. A long list of yummy ice cream makes it tough for me to decide what will be the flavor(s) of the day but I manage. We love to get a huge waffle cone each and walk down Newbury while enjoying it. The ice cream and yogurt is absolutely incredible and we found out recently while relatives were visiting that they even have lactose intolerant ice cream! It was a win for my family!! Highly recommended! more

Moooo for more 8/17/2005

It's a great local Ice cream place. They have wide range of flavors. Ice cream is good and creamy. They are expanding so fast. They have so many locations now. The prices have increased. Almost compatible to Ben and Jerry's. Well, their scoops are bigger. more

Thinking about J P Licks makes me salivate 8/8/2005

Well, my review title should be self-explanatory. J P Licks makes amazing ice cream. Not only are the flavors interesting, but the serving sizes are quite large. This quality ice cream is a bargain and is great for all ages. The crowd is diverse as well - even though this location is on Newbury Street. You see punk kids, preppy young adults, professionals, children with their grandparents, motorcyclists, and everything else in between at this ice cream joint. It is a versatile place - a great place to go with your friends during the day and/or with a date for a casual after-dinner dessert. Additionally, if the weather's nice, this is also a great location to people watch! Finally, the sprinkles (or jimmies) are free! :) more

JP Licks 7/12/2005

I absolutely love JP Lick's not just on Newbury St. but in JP, Brookline, Newton, I wish they would open one in Brighton closer to my home. The Coffee Oreo is the best I have ever tasted, Coconut almond chip and Peanut butter chip are also favorites. The atmosphere is laid back and the lines are out the doors but you always get served with in minutes. more

2nd Best Ice Cream in Boston 6/27/2005

Unfortunately, the best is just down the block at Emacs and Bolio's. JP Licks is a bigger store and a better hang out spot if you don't want to have your ice cream melt on your shirt as you slurp it up in the Boston heat. more

One of the best ice-cream places in Boston. 9/24/2004

Being an ice-cream lover this place rocks! Has many flavors and you just can't walk pass it on Newbury Street.
