JJ&F is a great little family owned market. The deli is fabulous and does party trays. The meat is fresh and wonderful, though I do miss the old butcher counter. Produce is great and there is always someone available to answer questions. I know the prices are a little higher but the service and selection are so much better than the big chain stores. more

great deli, good market, expensive 9/2/2005

any time you're going to a non-chain super market you expect to pay more, and JJ and F is no exception. not the best place to go to get the basics, but their deli is beyond compare. they have everything you could want out of a deli and more. the sandwiches are huge and delicious. they also have a huge cheese and olive selection. it's a great local market in palo alto. more

Great place for sandwiches and fresh produce 8/5/2005

Their produce section isn't big, but they have some really fresh and sweet fruits (blueberries, strawberries, when in season). But what I love most about this deli is their sandwiches. My staple for years when I was working in palo alto was their pepper turkey with swiss on a dutch crunch. They pile on the turkey and add sprouts, tomatoes, pickles, onions, peppers, lettuce, and mayo, making it a hearty sandwich that is really good. And they had a buy 10 get one free card too on top of that! more

Great! 7/13/2005

I personally adore this little grocery store located on a great street in the wonderful neighborhood of College Terrace! It is a very clean store where you can find any type of food item that you may need, such as fruits, veggies, cereal, dairy products, chocolate, candy, ice cream, bread, meat, etc. It is truly a great store. I think everybody from College Terrace goes there whenever they are too lazy to go to Safeway. If you live near this store, I definitely recommend you to go there. more
