J & O Tax Bookkeeping

I only went there to have my federal taxes taken care of. I was not really interested in having my state taxes done because I had not filed a state return for the year 2006 because I knew I owed and told Jonathan about it. When Jonathan finished my federal return, he surprised me with an ""amended state return"" stating that I had a refund coming to me for state taxes. I was at that moment overwhelmed with joy thinking Jonathan had found some type of loophole and I was going to get a refund from the state of Wisconsin. NO, actually what happened was, he stated on the ""amended return"" that I had ""paid"" an amount over what I owed by check. I got a letter from the state of Wisconsin saying that I am not entitled to a ""refund"" and instead I now owe taxes, penalties, and interest. I told him I did not file for the year 2006, so how could I of paid anything? Jonathan filled out an ""amended return"" for me so he would not have to put his signature on any line knowing that if he did, he would be accountable. This type of behavior goes against the grain of Ethics of what he is to uphold as a tax accountant. His help and advice are supposed to be in line with ""My best interest"" when clearly this is not the case. I am quite sure he is loved by the state of Wisconsin for that one. Sorry, he does not get my vote for Wisconsin Governorship (if that's what he's aiming for). more

i have to say that i am shocked reading any negative reviews.i have been coming here since 2004 when i opened my business.they have always done my personal and business bookeeping and taxes.i have found them to be professional,friendly and competent and very accessible. i have no complaints at all. more

I juz went to this tax guy and did my income tax after we're done I forgot to tell him I still have car registrations and stuff and some more which he didn't ask in the first place, so I went back. Suddenly he accused me of making him lie on what to put on the deductions. I was like I was juz asking that i forgot to tell u about the car registration of my 2 cars.. But he went over what i asked him. He even told me to look for some tax preparer that can lie. And it was totally way out of the question. I agree on one of his customer, this accountant is really mentally unstable. I could have gotten some respect as his 2 year customer and a person and some more MONEY return!!!! if anybody want to do their tax here, please think twice... or even quadruple times!!!! He insulted me and accusing me of stuff that i didnt even ask him to do!!! please please.. I even almost cry on stuff that he said to me. Although I only paid 88 dollars its not worth it!!! I just filed taxes for the past 3 years. Jonathan, my person, informed me that filing on time is better than waiting for the IRS to file for me. I am very happy with his prompt service, despite filing late. I had gone to Hr block and actually paid more with fee for this and fee for that. He fee is a little high but I left with peace of mind that the job is done right. We filed my 2006 first, his recommendation, bc if not I would have lost my refund if I did not file by April 15 of this year. My 2006 return was simple and was glad to pay $125.00 well worth it. FOr the 2007 and 2008 we filed a week later and his staff filed an extension for me. He assured me that my waiting would be worth the wait. I am glad although my returns were more complicated he and his staff cared for my peace of mind. Martha she was a great help to explain what I needed to mail and had everything ready for mailing out my 2006 return via certified mail. They care, they help, more importantly are professional. thank you! Pros: Always available, returns calls and emails Cons: a little expensive but better than H & r block more

I had been going to J and O to get my taxes done for something like 15 years. Over the last few years I had noticed that the price for a simple tax return had gone up. When I went in recently to get my taxes done they charged me a whopping $126 for yet another simple tax return. I've had the same job for over 3 years so there's no excuse for this other than J and O ripping me off and getting over on me. Cons: Way too expensive more

The worse experience ever. This guy is rude and customer service is aweful. They quoted me different price and when I politely asked why the final price is higher then one quoted initially guy flipped out and started throwing papers at me. This was truly the worse experience with an accountant in my life. Guy is mentally unstable- think if mentally unstable person can take care of your money right. Do not go there! more

I have been going to J & O Tax Bookkeeping for about 7 years now. I won't go anywhere else, since I know that Jonathan and his staff take the time to treat each customer, one person at a time. I moved to Arizona in 2005, but I still keep the business relationship we have established. They have earned my loyalty, and have referred my family to his office every opportunity I get. more

I have been going to J&O for about six years now and I've never had any problems with them. Jonathan is awesome. He takes his time with each client and always makes himself available for any questions and concerns. I actually tried going to someone else a couple of years ago just to try something new, BIG MISTAKE. Their quality of service did not compare to what Jonathan and his staff offer. Very professional and efficient. A big 10 for them all the way. more
