Seattle's finest cowboy boots and unique high end shoes 7/7/2010

JGilbert actually works with America's finest boot makers to design their own signature styles of cowboy boots, that you will never find anywhere else. Create your own boot, if you please! Conservative, fun designs in women's shoes and high end mens shoes. Pros: good taste, comfort, not pretentious, but high quality Cons: $$$$ more

Disinterested Staff 1/1/2010

OK - you can't beat the boots at JGilbert. Wonderful, high quality, top brands, - even custom design options! Not the vanilla styles you find at every other store - or on every other foot in the city. But don't expect an interested or engaged sales staff to help you much. My questions were answered with one or two words (generally a distracted "yes", or "no" as the sales person whisked by...), and no one ever took enough interest to really ask me what I was looking for - or what they could do to help me. Since they have only 2 stores (the other one is in Tucson, Arizona) you're really stuck being treated like a pest if you want that they have. They have fabulous merchandise, if only the buying experience were comparable! Pros: Fabulous boots Cons: Poor Customer "Service" more

Quality footwear and attractive clothing 3/27/2007

J Gilbert gift cards have become a standard in my Christmas stocking. I love being able to splurge on a couple of pairs of designer shoes or jeans or cashmere. Watch their website for sales, particularly if you have larger or smaller-than-average feet. You'll score bigtime. Pros: Love shoes? Love J Gilbert. Cons: Designer shoes are expensive. more

Very Disappointing Customer Service 11/3/2006

I recently spent more than $1000 on a pair of custom-made boots at this store. What a painful experience -- 7 months and 3 botched attempts over what was a very simple order. The worst was that the owner/manager of the store was completely uninterested in resolving the issue. What a disappointment. Buyer beware at this store. Cons: Terrible customer service. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Chic feet once meant wretched woes for toes. No more. In these plucky stunners for men and women, you kiss that foot fatigue goodbye. Lickety-split, you're pounding the pavement on air--minus that dowdy, American tourist, sneaker look. And, oh, the colors: Piudi's luscious metallic roses and mauves; Camper's creamy leathers of baby-blue; juicy citrus and purple passion; Think's electric yellows and reds hugging rubbery lilac soles; and Terra Plana's earthy blacks and browns.
