Best

all ages, college kids to family parties. On the water front, and 2.50 everything. cant beat this place period!!! Pros: cheap beer, cheap wine, cheap food

Worst

Sorry folks, this is NOT good seafood and it's certainly not worth the price. Bland, limp fries and badly breaded fish are not my idea of tastey. Seattle has much better to offe...

We didn't even get to try it because they said my Oregon Liscense was a fake. I've never been so offended in my life. Not recommended for anyone, and their manager was a real piece of work, classy... 4/8/2007

We were visiting from Portland, and checked citysearch for a good place near campus for some seafood. They had a happy hour and we figured we'd stop by. Their bartender who looked no older than me decided my Oregon liscense wasn't the real deal and decided they weren't going to serve us in the middle of the day and Easter. The manager didn't have anything to offer other than to tell us to eat in the restaurant instead. I've never been treated like such a criminal in my life. I'll never go back and don't recommend anyone else doing so either. Pros: Lots of parking because no one was there. Cons: Poor service, and treat their customers as criminals more

Sorry folks, this is NOT good seafood and it's certainly not worth the price. Bland, limp fries and badly breaded fish are not my idea of tastey. Seattle has much better to offer. Pros: Parking is easy Cons: too expensive, not good more

Ivars is #1...hands down 10/9/2003

I was introduced to this place about 6 months ago and have gone back more times than I can count. The service is great (I had a beer in my hands w/in about 3 minutes) and you get the best value for food than any other happy hour destination. Tip: try the bruschetta or the clam strips. For less than $10 you can be both buzzed and full. Pros: Great food, cheap, nice staff more

Editorial

  • The Scene
When the long days of summer come, locals flock to Ivar's deck to soak up the sun, enjoy a drink and take in the sights: seaplanes, classic boats and the skyline. But crowds inside enjoy themselves as well, where happy-hour drinks and appetizers are $2.50 each and the over-extended servers remain impressively accommodating.

    The Draw
A long happy hour is a thing of beauty, and this one kicks off at 3:30pm, stops at 6:30pm, then resumes from 9pm until close. As part of the longhouse-style Salmon House, the bar gives a few nice turns to the area's fish, especially salmon tacos, alder-roasted salmon skewers and spicy salmon cakes. Bacon brings a distinct smokiness to hearty chowder, but chicken wings are the biggest surprise: These addictive drummettes in adobo sauce far surpass standard bar fare. Other favorites include house chili and clam strips.
