Charlie did an incredible job with my husband's tattoo. He took time to waterline all of the line work and it made the black look incredibly sharp and crisp. We'd had other people tell is that they couldn't do the design he wanted, so having Charlie do such an incredible job was awesome. more

Incredible work. Came with a colored sketch, and David Detloff delivered a flawless tattoo. Received numerous compliments on the terrific line work he performed on my arm. Was so pleased with the arm piece, came back for a larger piece spanning my other arm and half my chest. I pitched an elaborate idea to David and he delivered detail oriented work that far exceeded my expectations. Coloring was incredible, people frequently tell me it's some of the most impressive work they have seen, and I have to agree. more

Over the last year I have been working with David on my right sleeve. I came to him with two concepts that I wanted him to join with a piece that he had done previously on my arm. I gave him total artistic freedom to create something for me. I could not be happier with what I have now. I have a amazing piece of art now for a right arm. David along with his entire staff are professional, courteous, and excellent at what they do. I would highly recommend The Ink Lab to anyone looking for a great tattoo experience. more

It took me months to find the talent I was looking for. Besides being the most talented artist with best realism work I could find he was extremely professional and accommodating to what I wanted. I received a very detailed triple cover up eagle that healed perfectly, retained all detail and color and shocks everyone that sees it. I highly recommend David and the Ink Lab. more

If it's unmatchable quality you're looking for, the Ink Lab is the place to go. I have been going to David at the Ink Lab for ten years now. Not once have I been dissatisfied, and people I have referred are always captivated with his work and become returning customers. The store is clean and has a comfortable environment. The staff are professional, friendly, and welcoming. Wherever I go, people are asking me where I get my work done. I trust that no matter what I am looking to get, David will collaborate with me to make sure I get what I want, and he never fails to knock it out of the park above and beyond expectation. While I haven't gone to any other artists at the shop, I have seen their work (always very impressive). The Ink Lab is fully loaded for any and all of your tattoo and piercing needs, and I highly recommend and trust any tattoo artist or body piercer there! more

My husband and I went to The Ink Lab last night for our first-ever tattoos. We have rarely had such a positive interaction with ANY business. The staff were all friendly and helpful and not at all condescending or patronizing. Our artist, Charlie, was SO kind and personable and obviously talented that we were immediately comfortable. Our tattoos turned out to be exactly what we wanted and we are simply overwhelmed by the beautiful experience. We cannot possibly recommend The Ink Lab enough. more

I come here frequently and love the work I get done! I recommend people here all the time and they all come back satisfied. The only downside is there is a receptionist that is extremely rude, loud and obnoxious. It's difficult coming in with such a great attitude and leaving with a poor one because she talks badly of customers loud enough for everyone to hear. Such negativity! Sure makes it difficult coming back. more

BEWARE: What You want may have no barring as to what you might get! Beyond disappointed!! Ernesto turned what could have been a masterful piece of work into utter GARBAGE! He continued even after I told him to stop- I will be sure to tell everyone and anyone who and where this disaster took place and warn them to avoid it. Not to mention that the entire session Ernesto sat that and spoke Spanish to someone else instead of focusing on the tattoo. more

I went into the ink lab having a very large half sleeve tattoo that I wanted covered up. I went to Charlie Mendez, he is amazing! He always is joking with me and having fun and always listening to fun music! He def had a hard project ahead of him bc covering up tattoos isnt easy and you have to find the right design to put over it and make it darker. He did an amazing job and Im always getting compliments and i absolutely love it. Im actually going back there soon to get the rest of my sleeve done:) I love him! more

He is very easy to work with, very understanding of what I wanted, and his artwork is unique. When Walking into Ink lab I am greeted with a smile by there friendly professional staff, They make me feel very welcomed everytime I go in. I love showing off my pieces and have had nothing but Awsomefeed back by the people I show it to.I recommend Charlie to anyone who wants to get ink,weather its a huge piece or something small He WILL meet your expectations.Cause after all a tattoo stays with you forever. bad first impression 8/2/2009

when i turned 18, i really wanted to get an Industrial Piercing. i wasn't quite ready for a tattoo yet, so i figured an Industrial would look great on me! not knowing anything about where to go to and what to ask, a friend took me to Ink Lab. i came inside complete CLUELESS, not even knowing what the piercing was called. i described what i wanted to the guy, and he looked at me like i was a little slow... then he told me that i couldn't get the industrial done today, that i had to get two 14-gauge piercings on my cartilege where i would want the industrial and they'll put in the bar after it had healed. ---> which was all complete misleading information!! i later went to St. Sabrina's that day and asked them if it was true that i couldn't get the bar in immediately, and they told me whoever told me that was just trying to rip me off. i was very unhappy! Cons: they take advantage of clueless customers more

dear.i apologise if my skills does not fill your expectations ,if my honesty was rude, i apologise too, and if you can find someone else who can do what you want, is good,because you will be payig for something you want, in my case, i will not charge you for something you don't want, so if i say i cant tattoo what are you asking me is beacuse cant do what are you asking and i respect you, and i love my work. so i prefer to pass, and say im sorry ,i can't do what you ask. charlie Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Maybe Charlie was going to do my tattoo for free, since he most certainly treated me like he was doing me a favor during my consultation. \r \r It is very important for me that anyone working with, and on people are extra friendly. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected by his rudeness and unwillingness to work with me for what I wanted in my tat. I felt he treated me like was an idiot and was completely inflexible to work with my design, except on his terms.\r \r I'll take my business somewhere where they respect my wishes and are willing to - with their expertise-, work with what I what I would like until we are both confident we'll get good results. I am marking my body for life! i think I should have a say in what I would like for my tattoo to look like. Pros: Didn't have a chance to see any... Cons: Unfriendly; unflexible, borderline rude more

Best Tattoo shop in town 10/8/2008

I have had three tattoos done at Ink Lab and I will never go anywhere else. David Dettloff is a fantastic artist, and his original designs are always exactly what I want. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly, and I actually look forward to letting David stick needles in my flesh. I have had work done at other shops in the past, but David is my choice for any future work. Now I just have to come up with the money... more

Charlie Mendez has done 4 of my 5 tattoos. I have two beautiful hearts on my forearms; i came in with a picture of one and an idea of the other. Charlie drew up the heart with an incredible design. He is very personal and easy to get along with. I also got two sugar skulls, and knowing Charlie's love for skulls, I knew he'd make them to be awesome. He is always willing to take time and he works so well with colors and his prices are super reasonable. I really recommend Charlie Mendez, especially if you're looking for a long term tattoo artist. We even ordered Galactic Pizza because we stayed late to finish. Pros: personal staff, meters outside, great artists more

Great artists, craftsmanship, and camaraderie 10/6/2008

I have a total of 4 tattoos done by David from the Ink Lab and, with 2+ more to do in the future, it's still the place I would go back to exclusively. I know I'm being taken care of and the quality is first-rate, plus the value of what I get for what I pay is very worth it. Pros: Beautiful specialty/detail work Cons: Initial draw-ups and 'blueprints' of a piece can take awhile more
