As a very involved parent, and a true believer in Catholic education as a top priority, here is the scoop: Teachers are A+++++ and the only reason the school stays afloat. Principle has no credentials, is married to the Business manager who has a preexisting relationship with the pastor. The 3 of them run the school advisory board. The principle is never in the school, will not allow parent meetings, will not tell anyone what fundraised money is for and tries to kick out families who have valid grievances. Bullying is swept under the rug even when parents file a police report. The Diocese of Raleigh does nothing. Send your kids to New Bern if Catholic Education is your must have! more

Infant of Prague Catholic Church was the first church that I had gone to after moving to Jacksonville. I had been going to the same Catholic church all my life so I wasn't sure what to expect. The people were very welcoming and so was the pastor. The service was almost the same as it was back home, there were a few times when the kneeling and sitting was different though. The church has two cry rooms which I frequent pretty often, two balconies for congregation seating (and one for the choir), a gift store, and a separate hall for church functions. The church also has sunday school where the kids gather in the aisle and go do some activities during a portion of the mass. There is also an Infant or Prague Catholic School that is worth checking out. more
