I street race Honda's & Acura's. I used to do all of my own car repairs myself until I found Import Minded. Adam was the best service manager I have ever met. Since then he has left and he is missed but the quality of service has me coming back. The owner himself has worked on my vehicles, parts I have brought in and given me rides home. I hate paying labor costs but I happily fork over the $ with these guys. They have great prices and 99% of the time they will give you a quote right over the phone (providing you know what your car needs). **IMPRESSED** I had my 92 Honda prelude towed there a couple years ago and it had a bad head gasket. For those of you who don't know, this is the single most expensive repair you can do on an engine. When they replace the head gasket they basically take your engine apart piece by piece and replace every gasket along with the spark plugs, oil and oil filter. A dealership (stealership) wanted $2500+ to repair it. The guys at Import minded really came through for me. They gave me a quote for $1,150 OVER THE PHONE. I waited a couple of days until I had the $ then called and said go ahead with the repair. Six hours later they called me and said my car was done!!!! The end price was $1,250 and well worth it. Its always a little more than what the quote is by about 7% so keep that in mind. NO OTHER independent shop can give you the quotes and stick to that close to them like Import Minded does. From the first day I went to Import Minded I have never considered taking my vehicles anywhere else. I now live in Mequon and still take my imports there because you can not find a better FULL SERVICE shop to take care of you, your car and your wallet. more

I just went to Import Minded for the first time yesterday. My freind had been telling me about them for some time now and my car was in need of service so I gave them a try. I'll tell you, never will I go anywhere else again! The guys at Import Minded took such great care of me they treated me as if I were a lifetime customer! Adam was my service writer, and he was great at explaining to me the problems with my car. Not to mention the great price for the repairs ! I didn't have a way home so instead of waiting they dropped me off and picked me up, that was a life saver. Bottom line, this is the best place in town!!!! I have owned all Honda's the past 25 + years. I was told about Import Minded by a friend of mine that also owns a Honda. I have to say from the first time I took my car to Import Minded almost 5 years ago I was very impressed. I had a problem that 3 other shops could not fix and they took care of it on the first try! I was told about their preferred customer deal and even got 10% off my bill...and that was on my first visit. Pros: Best prices in town for Honda service Cons: Wish they were open Saturdays more

I heard from friends that this was a good place to go, but I wasn't impressed. Waited in the waiting area for a good 20 minutes before anyone even came out. Not what I had expected. more

I've been taking my car here for years, and had been telling friends and family to go here as well. The last time I was in they were incredibly rude and not up front. I won't be coming back. Cons: Customer appreciation more

I brought my car here for repairs, and was told the engine was shot and they offered to take the car off my hands. It took a few weeks to get the title since I was in the process of changing my name. I told them what the situation was, and didn't think anything more of it until I went to drop the title off and found it parked illegally on the street, unlocked. The license plate was pried off, the stereo was missing, and it was obvious someone had tried to steal the car and would have had the engine been working. To really add insult to injury, they told me they no longer wanted the car. And since it had been gutted already by whoever tried to steal it after Import Minded left it on the road unlocked, I couldn't sell it for parts. I ended up donating the car, and had a difficult time even finding anyone who'd want it in that condition. I'm appalled. To their credit, it took me a long time to get the title to them; however, I had informed them that I was in the process of getting a new title with my married name on it and I had no idea they'd leave my car on the road. It was a '99 Toyota Rav 4 and aside from the issues with the engine, had been in great condition when I left it with them. They never called to tell me that the car would be dumped in the road. Had they bothered to leave a message saying that they intended to leave the car parked illegally on a city street unlocked with the keys in the car, I would have had it towed elsewhere that day. I used to work for a high-end car dealership in the service department, and know that this is not how good business is done. I can't even express my level of disgust at how this situation was handled. With the current state of the economy, word of mouth is everything...and they can be sure that I'll be telling everyone I know NOT to go to Import Minded. Pros: Location Cons: Customer service more

high labor rate, but seemed to have a strong loyal client base. given that hondas are not peculiar cars (i.e not a saab, citroen) i think most mechanics could do routine maint. for less than their 90/hr labor rate. I mean 90/hr is approaching what you should pay for high-end german cars, not proliteriat hondas. more

We own two Accords and have been taking them to the team at Import Minded for over 10 years. We also have a Mercury Villager whch has a Nissan engine so they service that car as well. They are excellent, reliable, know their stuff, and give fair prices. We drive 20 miles just to get to them because we know they will fix the problem and at a fair price. A testimony to both Import Minded and Honda is that our oldest Accord is a 1989 and is still going with 350,000 miles on it. Call Adam for an appointment; you will be glad you did. I had my Honda CRV to 2 different Honda dealerships for an intermitten stalling problem with no luck and charged every time. The first visit to Import Minded on 27th st they fixed it right the first time and were very reasonable with the charge.........Thanks Guys.....AAAAAAA +++++ Pros: Very Friendly, clean waiting area Cons: none so far more
