Dissapointed, so different from when I dined here the first time a couple of yrs ago. This time service was very poor-place was almost empty and server was chating with one lady customer- forgot to bring appetizers. Food was mediocre. (glad we missed appettizers) Not coming back. more

Ridiculous. Bad service and arrogant attitude. Food was average. Ended up buying a bottle of wine, two apps, and dessert, and walked away spending $80 +tip. Do yourself a favor and never go to this restaurant. more

Rude server. Snobbish and extremely overpriced attitude. Overall experience seemed like the owner/manager is really stingy and cheap. We paid $6 for two balls of gulab jamun (dessert)... Couldn't even share it between 3 ppl. I say steer clear and find a better restaurant. I feel ripped off and disrespected! I'll stick with groupon, thanks! more

This was my first time and I guess my expectations were pretty high, but I was very dissappointed in not only the food, but the service. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either, and definitely not worth the price. I will not go back and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. more

Tried to like it on two occasions, thinking maybe they had an off night the first time we went. But second time was even worse. Portions small, lamb was tough and grizzled with fat that should have been trimmed. Service was weak and sporadic. Couldn't understand how this place could still be in business? This is not what Indian food is about. There has to be better Indian locally. I won't be back and wouldn't recommend to anyone. Sorry, left upset and cheated. Poor value. more

This Place has the worst Indian food, no wonder they had to resort to Living Social to get customers. The Chef is defnitely not from India. The buffet is horrible - the food has no taste at all - ever since the Punjabi owners sold this place to new owners. Dishes have one spice overpowering the whole dish and there's absolutely no blend in food taste. When this happens watch for meats of lower quality - they will put you to sleep after eating - that tells you the meats are lower in quality. Even a basic soup - is f'd up - which means this restaurant is wrose than any burger joint. more

After we finished eating (family of four), the waiter came and gave us our check. However, they had already added the tip. We called the manager and told him about this but he said that we had not given a tip last time we came. However, here is the REAL story. Even the last time we came, they had already added the tip, but we added MORE tip on top of that. Apparently the waiters told him lies about us not giving a tip. Then, he told us that if we didn't give him a tip, he would not seat us again. Horrible people. NEVER GO THERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. No courtesy whatsoever and the food was not even that good. more

Had better from venders at fairs. The service is slow and don't care to accommodate you in the least. Our party of 5 had 2 Living Social coupons and were told that we could only use one per table. But we are having separate checks. Didn't matter only on coupon per table. Fine, we split up into two tables. No! You are a group and only one coupon per group! What? Separate tables, separate checks and you still will not accommodate us. We left, had some nice Thai food across the parking lot instead. Saved money even without the coupons. more

After making a reservation for a party of five, it took the staff almost 5 minutes to sit us down. They had taken a chair from our table and given it to an older party of four. Everyone seemed to be confused as how to solve the crisis of the missing chair. The staff did not seem to communicate with each other as we had no idea who our server was and we were asked by 3 different waiters what we would like to drink. Because the staff would keep dissapearing it took us forever to order appetizers and then another while until we ordered our food. Overall we felt ignored, and as if we were a burden to the staff. The Indian waiter that was serving us was a bit too pushy and would always try and get us to order the more expensive menu items. He tried to push the mango lassi on me twice (the most expensive drink item), even though I said I was perfectly fine with my glass of sparkling water. Also be aware that the mango lassi is really filling (one thing that wasn't mentioned). BEWARE: always ask if the suggestions are extra. Because they have two seperate menus I got charged $2 extra for having white meat chicken in my curry. Nothing was really explained, which is why I felt we were taken advantage of. Our waiter also came off also came off as arrogant. The food was good, but really not worth it. For the prices I expect the quality of the service to match. The waiter were always rushing despite the fact that the size of the restruant was as big as a living room. Like I said the food was good but the service wad horrendous, and it overshadowed the food. I probably won't be returning again. more

The food was tasty but he wait was forever, 20 people in the restaurant. They screwed up one of the orders, they re-made it and served it as we were leaving. It was expensive for the little amount of food served. I won't go again. more

Well, I must admit that my girlfriend and I were VERY disappointed with this place. The quality of both the food and service has really gone down since this restaurant won the "Best in Miami award. I guess they believe that they no longer have to put effort in the restaurant now that they have that award. Imlee had the most incompetent staff we have EVER seen. A family came in, which required the manager to move us to another table. Easy enough, right? Well this staff was so incompetent that the waitresses had absolutely no idea who was supposed to serve our new table (mind you, there are only two waitresses in this small establishment). We were actually the absolute LAST ones to leave the restaurant after 2 hours of these waitresses bumbling around like stooges. High school waitresses working at iHop could have done a much better job than these idiots. Couple that with the fact that the food was "meh," and we had a VERY sub-par dining experience. For a GREAT Indian dining experience, try India House Restaurant in Plantation, FL. I've been there twice and their service, food quality/variety, and ambiance was MUCH better than this place. We tipped just as a formality, but we will NEVER return to this place and furthermore, I've actually felt the need to discourage friends from wasting their money here. more

I wish I knew the service would be THIS bad! 5/8/2011

REALLY, HONESTLY HORRIBLE 4/15/2011

It was my friend's birthday, and he really wanted Indian food. We used to go to a place that had closed down, so I went on Citysearch to find a replacement. I had actually heard of Imlee on a local TV show--some people liked it, some didn't. But it seemed big and lively, and the Citysearch reviews consistently said the food was good but the service was bad (except for a few who seemed to hate the place). I figured if we went in knowing the service was bad, we would relax, drink some wine and wait for the good food. Well, all I can say is thank goodness we ordered wine. The waiters literally DO NOT come to the table. You have to flag them down for everything--I mean, to get menus, to get the order taken, to see why it's taking so long, to see why it's been an hour already, to see why it's been an hour and a half... It's not even like there were alot of people there. It is a tiny tiny tiny dining room, with no area for a host to greet and seat you--so you already enter feeling a bit awkward, standing in the middle of the dining room, and having to call one of the servers to seat you. But then, add to that that the waiters didn't know what ANYTHING on the menu was... Well, believe it or not, we were drinking our wine and laughing, and making jokes because we knew that the service was supposed to be bad..We were actually tired, and wanted to leave and go to sleep, but we kept holding out for the good food.. We were REALLY DISAPPOINTED. The food wasn't even warm. My friend was trying to be nice, and started eating because I was taking him out for dinner for his birthday..but I broke the ice and said I thought it was cold and bad, too. We ordered chicken tikka masala-- It LOOKED like Indian, but it tasted like a jar of sauce on four chicken nugget sized pieces of chicken--for 18.95. We ordered garlic naan, and one that had raisins and almonds, because one of the reviewers said it was good--and it was good! Also the samosas were OK. But the sag paneer was really bland and had like five tiny cubes of 'cheese' in a sea of bland spinach puree. The veggie korma was REALLY BAD. It was literally a frozen bag of corn, green beans, lima beans, and peas with some sauce. It's supposed to have some fresh veggies, maybe a coliflower and potato, and nuts and raisins--it's supposed to be hearty and sweet and aromatic. It wasn't. It was runny, and limp. Everything tasted like it had been sitting around forever, and came out of a frozen bag or a can--and we asked for medium spice--because the waiter said that would be spicy but not hot, but what we got lacked any kind of spice at all.(I think the waiter obviously forgot, or the cook got the order wrong..but we were there for SOOO long, we just wanted it to end!) But I thought I would at least write this review to warn other people-- It's not just the service that's bad--the food is WORSE. I felt like there were some reviewers that said it was horrible, and I thought they were being vindictive or something. But they weren't. They were angry that their food order was wrong, not mention cold, and really not good, and took about 2 hours.. and that the waiters didn't even TRY to look like they cared.. and to add insult to injury--$100 for two people is not cheap, so the price of this restaurant is deceiving before you even enter the door. If after reading this, you STILL want to go..good luck to you. I've done my civic duty to warn you :) more

I have eaten in at Imlee's previously on various occasions but recently needed to enjoy a quick take out meal. I found out this was a mistake. My $55 chicken dinner for 2 was a disaster. First I enjoy Indian food that's spicy. That's how I order it. It's become increasable difficult for them to believe that when I request spicy that's what I mean. Twice now I have had to ask them to re-cook my meal spicy as they have cooked my meal mild when ordered spicy. Most recently when ordered take out I found out they do not cook take out tandoori the same way they cook it for sit down meals. For take they do not cook the vegetables at all. When this was brought to the Managers attention he was rather rude and insinuated that it was my fault that I didn't understand that they did not cook the vegetables on take out orders. He did not offer to correct the situation and appeared glad to find out that he had just lost a customer. What a shame but this is how businesses go out of business. more

Wish the restaurant was closer to home and bigger so I can bring everyone I know... The food is so rich in flavor and fresh. I recommend this place especially to couples since it's very intimate. Also, make sure you reserve a table if you're going on a weekend, other than that you're fine and if the waiters are not doing their job right, talk to the manager... This guy is a lot more knowledgeable than his inept employees. more

We used to frequent this place more than a year ago. On this rare occasion, hubby was craving for Indian and since he will be out of town for the next few days, we decided to chance this place again. After the visit, both of us agreed we would rather drive all the way to Fort Launderdale to get our fill. Typical of a place where its quality and standard suffers when it gets too popular. more

I first discovered Imlee with my wife not long after they opened in '03. The food was unlike anything we'd experienced before. Soon after, we were dragging everyone we knew over there. There were always problems with the service. The servers weren't friendly, and offered nothing in the way of help with the menu. Still, we continued to go at least 1-2 times a month. My favorite dish was the lamb biryani, a rice dish that came in a piping hot casserole. Then something happened. The quality of the food declined, and they changed the way they served dishes like the biryani. We figured it was under new ownership, so we stopped going. Fast forward to earlier this month. In the span of a few days, a friend told me about a great meal he'd had at their lunch buffet, and the Herald published an article on the wonders of Imlee. We decided to give the lunch buffet a try for old time's sake. Big mistake. The waitress never asked if we were familiar with the buffet or offered any choices. She just brought out various plates. Whenever I tried talking to her she'd mumble something I couldn't understand. Dessert, which is included in the buffet, was never offered. I had to ask her for it when she brought the check, and even then wouldn't tell me what the choices were. I ended up having to point at something on the next table that ended up being a lot better than what we got. As far as the food goes, the nan bread, the corn chowder and the samosas were spectacular, but the rest wasn't memorable. With all the options for Indian food in Miami, I think it'll be a long while before I come here again. Pros: At Least They Try...I Think Cons: Service more
