This place and the people are terrible. People should be more aware of who they give business to. Just one persons opinion and you know what they say about those but for what it's...

Good service 7/18/2010

I found very good reviews about this salon so I figured calling on a whim they might have something open. I spoke to Michael and they didn't. But then he asked how far I was and he said come right over I can get you in. Pros: last minute appointment, very friendly Cons: not very attentive, not good with details, not good lighting more

I live in the city and heard about Ida's from a coworker. Her hair cut done by Lisa was fantastic- perfect for my friend's facial features and lifesyle. I have been wanting a new hairstyle, but unsure where to go. I called Ida's and was able to get in to see Lisa that day- perfect! She took time to listen to my hair concerns and asked important questions- not just sit and start cutting kind of stylist. We decided to color and highlight to enhance the new cut. Lisa was very open to that and did a beautiful job. I restyled my hair the next day and the highlights looked too chunky on one side. I called and spoke to Michael (wonderful, efficient front desk person) and I was able to get in that same day. Lisa took her time w/ me and decided I needed low lights and fixed it right then, at no charge. I love my new look!! Pros: friendly atmosphere, Lisa is very, very good Cons: far from the city- but worth it more

Great but pricey 9/25/2008

i visited Lisa at Ida's and thought she was wonderful. she did an amazing job on my cut and color and i am very impressed with how she listened to what i wanted and then made it happen! i am especially happy with my color and highlights. the only negative is the price. it turned out to be WAY more expensive than i ever imagined. i am also very surprised at the $50 hair drying charge. she did do a great job of drying and straightening my hair, but, anyplace else I've visited has always included that or maybe added on an extra $10 or something, not charged an extra $50 for it. so, I'm completely torn about going back.....i really want to because my hair looks great, but, i really can't afford to spend $300 every 2 months on my hair. more

Ida's is a hidden gem! 7/22/2008

I have gone to many salons across chicago and the northshore and I have finally found a place that I will stay with! From the moment i walk in (Michael's smiling face), to the moment I leave (with a smile on my face as i look in the mirror feeling beautiful!), it is just a great experience. My favorite cuts have come since Ive been going to Ida's and they do a great job with color too. Would highly recommend to all my friends. Many have complimented on my cuts since I started going to Ida's. more

I won't be going back 6/9/2008

I did not like the fact that they offered to give me a discount/free conditioning service in return for a good review on CitySearch. That is unethical and feels like bribing. Now I feel I cannot trust the citysearch reviews that are good. Pros: They are polite and friendly. Seem customer service oriented and to care about their image from their responses on citysearch. more

Great Service & Hair Style 5/13/2008

I just moved to Northbrook and was still seeing my stylist downtown Chicago, which was not very convenient. So I took a chance and I am so glad I did. Lisa is a true professional and she did a great job with my cut, color and highlights. I've gotten several compliments, especially with the color. She listened to my concerns and she was great to chat with. The salon is very friendly and service focused. They offered coffee, tea and cookies too :) more

Great Experience! 4/14/2008

I have always had a great experience at this salon. I see Julie, and I always love her cuts and the way she styles my hair. I have had long hair and short hair, and she has tons of experience working with both and is very versatile. I also get the occasional coloring, and I've always been ecstatic with the results! I travel from the city to see her, and she is often very flexible and accommodating with my schedule. I definitely recommend her and the salon! more

I read previous reviews and decided to take a chance with a new colorist after many years of loyalty to another. Lisa is truly a professional colorist that listens to your concerns, offers her opinion and meets the expectations you envision. I am thrilled with my color. more

Fabulous Salon!! 2/18/2008

At Ida's you get the attention to detail and friendly atmosphere of a family owned business, with the talent and expertise of a cutting edge, high-end salon. Lisa Stellato is an amazing colorist - you know you have great color when people tell you how great your hair looks and don't realize you had it colored! Her cuts are just as fabulous - for the first time I can go in and tell someone to just give me a cut, without worrying I will come out with some crazy style that looks ridiculous. I would highly recommend the salon! Pros: Amazing staff - plenty of parking more

Great Colorist & Stylist 2/11/2008

I LOVE MY HAIR! I just didnt like my look and it was my hair. it was making me look older and the color didnt do anything for my skin. I had been loyal client to my previous hair dresser but I wasnt happy. I went to see Lisa and I had an idea of what I wanted and Lisa guided me as to what would color and style would look best on me. I couldnt believe the outcome. I felt great. My hair came to life. It didnt look dry anymore, the color and highlights looked natural. My skin had a glow to it now. Lisa gave me a "ready to wear" hair style. I dont have to do much to it, it just falls into place. LOVE IT! If you are not happy with your hair dont waste anymore time..Let Lisa perform her magic on your hair. Pros: no complaints..the staff was accomodating, great location in downtown northbrook, no pkg problems more

An absolute must for getting top notch color and hair styles!! 1/19/2008

If you are in the area or not, do yourself a favor and go see Lisa Stellato at Ida's because her talent, professionalism, and personality will leave you more than satisfied. I have spoken to several of her ex-clients in Los Angeles, and they complain that they have not found anyone as good as her since she has left. She takes pride in staying current with the newest of styles and colors and I love what she used to do on my hair, I guess that L.A."s loss is Northbrook's gain! Finding a good stylist isn't hard to do, but finding a great stylist is as rare as finding an honest mechanic. You won't be disappointed. Pros: Everyone is very nice at the salon, the atmosphere is very comfortable Cons: Lisa Stellato cannot be cloned, but we are working on it! more

Ida's Salon is truly on the top of my list. Lisa Stellato has been my stylist for quite awhile and has always done an excellent job on all my cuts and color. AWSOME!!!! Great location and parking.....and the employees are always welcoming with a smile and a fresh cup of coffee. more
