Huntsville, Alabama, is probably better known for what it doesn't have than what it does, but the Ice Complex (better known as the Iceplex) is a fairly unique and cheap venue (more so than the movie theater!) for kids, families, high school/college gatherings, etc. They also host regional or national competitions every once in awhile, which are sometimes free and often interesting. It's also a nice escape from the scorching Bama heat.
