Security guards Inventory searches what the heck? 9/9/2010

Recently went to see Rockstar energy Mayhem Festival, with Rob Zombie and Korn along with many other bands.. I have been to the amphitheater several times before for many different venues, and never experienced what I did that day! Yes the parking is miss managed, the walk to the gate is far, and the hill is tuff, yes its hot but I expected that. What I did not expect was to have a security gaurd do an inventory search of my bag. The security guard took out everything in my bag searching through every paper in my wallet, She even unfolding papers in my wallet.that is invasion of my privacy! I understand the searching for weapons, bottles and such. But really holding up thousands of concert goers to search every paper in my purse? more

The Absolute WORST Venue 8/12/2007

I went to a concert last night at the Hyundai Pavilion. The concert was great but the venue was terrible. The security staff was extremely belligerent and unhelpful. The planning for the event seemed to include only a plan to bilk the concert goer of as much money as possible. I bought ""premiere"" parking and the signs when I arrived were barely comprehesable. Then after following the ones for ""premiere"" we were told that our premiere was some where else, but of course we could ""up-grade"" for another 10 bucks. This bait and switch had been pulled on most people who bought parking before-hand and followed the signs. To top off the 30 dollar parking the 77 dollars for the concert and the 13 dollar margarita's (after you are stripped of you right to bring any thing in with you except 20 onces of water) the securities kept people pinned in by the stage without the ability to get water for hours. I saw several people pass out, and the musicians kept calling for water to be given to people the area by the stage which got to around 110 degrees. The night ended when the ""security"" -having provoked concert-goers all day with their Gestapo attitude- decided to pepper spray the crowd and we were almost trampled. The Hyundai Pavilion and the Security company should be SUED! Pros: The Concert Cons: Everything Else more

hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen 5/31/2007

I have seen many of concerts at this venue as far back as the US Festival in 1983. And have had no problems. You have to realize if you are seeing a concert in the middle of the summer in San Bernardino...it's going to be HOT!!! but once the sun goes down it's nice. There are two sides to enter at, I have only had to walk up a hill once and that was when we took a taxi and he dropped us off. All the other times we parked we only had to walk throught a dry grassy field, but it was flat. I have never sat on the lawn for any of the concerts so I can't comment on the view from up there, but I have always had great seats for every concert and think the view from any ""seat"" is pretty good. Very open and the stage is huge, and the sound is always great!. I love when bands I want to see are playing there and choose the Hyundai Pavilion over Verizon/Irvine Meadows any day. Talk about a hike to get to the place. Looking forward to ROCKEN there again real soon!!! Pros: Great view, stage is very wide and open Cons: The heat in the summer! bring suntan lotion and get a tan!! more

NOt as bad as previous reviews say 7/27/2006

I read the previous reviews and was a bit worried that we had purchased tickets for this venue. Perhaps that others who weren't crazy about the venue are big concert go-ers, as for me... I'haven't been to a concert in years and I thoroughly enjoyed the amphitheater. I did take into account the other reviewers comments about the long uphill walk from the parking lot... PAY FOR PREMIUM PARKING-- it's worth it!! We were quite close. Overall very enjoyable Pros: ambience, show Cons: number of gates open for the long line more

Worst Venue in LA 6/27/2004

What were they thinking? Let's build a huge amphitheater out in the middle of nowhere and not improve any of the infrastructure around the venue so it's impossible to get in and out. I tried to go see Blink 182 and No Doubt. Traffic was backed up on the 15 PAST the 210. Once I got off the freeway, it took me 3 hours to drive the 2 miles to the venue. I sat in that traffic for 4.5 hours and when I finally got up to the parking gate they told me they were oversold and I had to turn around and go home. The best part is that I hear the venue was half empty because nobody could get in. Then when I called to complain and ask about a refund, they told me there would be no refunds because 'That's the way it goes sometimes. Unbelievable. Cons: , Poorly thought out more

Worst Venue Block Buster Pavilion 9/17/2002

I went to Inland Invasion 2 and will never go back to Block Buster Pavilion! Don't get me wrong the band were great! But $3.00 for water, the mile walk to the entrance, Can't see **** from the lawn (helped a little after dark with big screens), NO SHADE, and in the middle of desert. Cons: bad parking, expensive more

Worst Place Ever 9/16/2002

This is THE WORST VENUE EVER. Everything about it is bad. The long ass walk in the desert heat to get to the entrance which is located up a steep hill. I went to the Levi Invasion concert, the bands were good, but DAMN THE HEAT. I hated this place. Oh, and lets not forget the 2 hours after the concert just to get out of the concert! I don't ever want to go back to this place Ever Again. I don't care if U2 and the Pope are showing up here. Please tell your friends not to go to this place....Ever. Pros: Nothing, Nada, Zero Cons: The Heat, The Exit, The Fires on the Lawn more
