I am not able to comment on the actual repair work this company does. Because their support staff and customer service is so poor and unprofessional, I was never able to have repair work done.
The initial consultation was good. The man was on time, to the point, and informative. I decided to go with this company without getting estimates from anyone else. They seemed fair enough in price and I didn't have time to comparison shop.
I needed a quick date for repair, was given a date, and was told Charlene would contact me with ""all the details and everything could be done over email."" Great.
Charlene became the problem. I was scheduled for the 25th. She called on the 20th, left a message saying simply, ""we aren't doing the work on the 25th, it's now the 31st."" The tone of her message was curt and rude, with no apologies whatsoever or consideration of MY schedule.
I sent an email and said that I was relying on the 25th and the 31st was too late, as I had a tenant moving in on the 1st. I also inquired about billing, as no one had sent me anything or mentioned the transaction details.
Sent another email on the 24th asking if we were still doing the 25th, since I had not heard from them. Charlene left yet another rude phone message on the 24th saying, (I kid not) ""like I said, NO, we will not be doing the work on the 25th, we will try to get to it Friday."" Left a call back number. No other details. No instructions to confirm. No instructions that anything needed to be done on my end.
Friday morning I called to confirm the work would be completed and Charlene was even more rude in actual conversation, telling me that they are not doing the work because I never signed the contract. And that after ""several"" attempts, she couldn't reach me. (two attempts, one I responded to, the other needed no response) I asked her why she never sent a contract to me or mentioned it in any of the messages so I COULD SIGN IT. She said ""that's why I left my call back number. You needed to call me so I could go over all that stuff."" I told her she made no indication in any of her messages that I needed to call, and according to her message, the work was to start that morning. She also could have easily sent me an email with the contract. I asked when the work could be done once the contract was sent to me and signed, she said she didn't know and would call me back.
That was on a Friday-early morning. By Tuesday afternoon, I had given up waiting for Charlene. I wrote an email to the company informing them that I would post a low review. I gave 24 hours to respond. No response. I can only assume Charlene discarded the email and wiped me off the calendar with no mention to anyone else. Just another customer who changed her mind.
During all this communication with Charlene, I was in the hospital with a dying family member and she was made aware of this through my email. I suppose during my work schedule and family matters, I could have remembered an empty sample contract in the folder given to me with my estimate, driven home, written in the blanks to the best of my ability, looked up her fax number and faxed it to Charlene in anticipation of them needing it, but call me crazy...I assume that is Charlene's job.
Hy-tech offers a lifetime warranty, which I liked. But it makes me curious..if it's this hard to get the work done initially, how bad would it be if you needed them to come back and repair their work??
