Best Ice Cream 2/10/2009

I have been going to Husky's for years - mostly for the ice cream cones! It's old-fashioned and neighborly in there. I just wanted to add my comments and thank them for keeping it going for our enjoyment. My favorite is maple walnut. Pros: Handy to walk to if in West Seattle, Friendly Cons: Parking sometimes, but who cares? more

Terrific homemade ice cream 1/1/2009

Worth a visit just for the homemade ice cream. Yum! Orange-chocolate and coconut are fantastic flavors. Pros: Excellent ice cream, easy parking behind the store more

Great local spot! 11/13/2006

Husky Deli is a great family shop. They have ice scream & good sandwiches & salads for those that are hungry for a little more then ice scream. They also have some great unique grocery items!!!! Check out their candy too - gourmet to everday. My son's school ordered their packaged lunches & they were a fantastic price! Pros: Fantastic Ice cream & lunches. Very fun for the family! more

Great imported foods, ok ice cream 8/21/2006

Went here after hearing a ton about the ice cream they have here... Just ok I thought. Not really worth my long trek to West Seattle. But the place has a nice old timey ice cream parlor feeling to it and the shelves are stocked with an amazing selection of all sorts of foreign foods, like pasta sauce from Italy and all sorts of olive oils. The prices were great, too. Pros: Lots of cool foreign foods Cons: Didn't really live up to the hype more

Memories of Husky Deli.... 7/29/2005

There was nothing like having my grandparents take me to Husky's for their Dollar Mint ice cream. Those added peppermint candy pieces made that flavor my favorite for 30 plus years. If the Dollar Mint flavor still exists it would be well worth any peppermint flavor fan to make the trek to Husky's. Now if I could only get that shipped down here in Long Beach,CA....thanks Husky Deli!!! Pros: parking, junction shops, good people more

west seattle icon! 1/9/2005

I grew up in west seattle in the '70s. Huskys was always the place to go and get ice cream! Even if we had to walk a mile or so to get it, it was the best. I still occasionally drive the 90 miles to get some of the licorice ice cream! YUM!! more

The Ecstasy and the Agony 7/20/2004

There is no better place in West Seattle, or perhaps the entire Seattle Metro area, for ice cream. Custom-made, it's outstanding, and even the new Ben & Jerry's across the street is a pale #2 to Husky's ice cream. But... don't be in a hurry when you come here for food (especially at lunch, when you want speed). Counter service, while friendly, is s-l-o-w. RUN! Don't walk to the W. Seattle store! 5/19/2004

Remember what your grandmother's homemade icecream? Well the guys at Husky Deli stole her recipe and are producing gallons of the stuff. Personal faves: Husky Chip and the Rasberry ribbon. It's heaven in a homemade waffle cone (or cup depending on your tastes.) Excellent people that are nice and usually happy to help you. Nice assortment of ""European"" foodstuff and a real live candy counter make it a must stop for family from out of town. Pros: Icecream, Sandwiches, Candy more

Great Chocolates 2/14/2003

I love the Schmidt chocolates that looklike halves of eggs. They are wonderful and make an excellent Christmas present for work associates. While the staff (usually a new person who struggles with packing 25 boxes of 4 eggs) prepares our order, I love to browse and buy unique items and old favorites.
