Scam Artists 6/25/2008

Ive been to this bar 2 times over 2 years. The first time I went there I was taken advantage of by the waitresses. When you buy 3 drinks and it costs you $25 and you give the waitress $40, you should get some change back. They keep your change as a tip. Thats one great tip if you ask me. Several of there waitresses do this. The only person in the bar I could find that didnt steal my money was the male bartender.\r \r I went back a second time 2 years later to see if it had changed. It hadnt. This time I watched a waitress bring drinks to several groups of patrons and tell them their friend had ordered it for them. But heres the catch, they wern't paid for. The recievers of the drink paid for the drinks to keep the peace of the bar. I also talked to several people there that bought drinks that was supposed to add up to one amount but the creditcard was run for another. When confronted, the waitress gets rude and claims that the amount is correct and she told them that amount prior to running the card. However, the cost of the drinks doesnt add up to that amount. Most people avoid the confrontation and leave it be.\r \r In my opinion, dont bother with this place unless you want to be scammed! more

weak drinks and silly policies 9/24/2007

I went there on a saturday night. there was no line but there was a $7 cover. I thought this is ridiculous for a beach bar. I'm from LA and used to cover at nice clubs but for a casual place like this a cover is just silly. The bartenders were quick and attentive. No complaints there. However, the drinks were soooo weak. I got a vodka cran but felt like i was just sipping on cranberry juice. Also, there was a minimum of $21 on credit cards. A bit irritating, especially because the ATM in in the corner chargesa ridiculous withdrawl fee. The crowd felt like the typical beach crowd; casual and young, (although looking around i realized half the people there were actually older than me....I'm 24). All in all a good time but that was probably due to the people I was with and not the place itself. \r Pros: Big, plenty of girls' bathrooms, casual, fast bartenders Cons: watered down drinks, cover, limit of credit card transactions more

The fill their bottles of booze with water 9/10/2007

This is the only conclusion I can come to. Ordered a Vodka Tonic, watched the girl pour it (and it was a standard pour) and the drink tasted like straight tonic water. So in addition to paying a cover it appears you are also paying for boozeless drinks.\r \r There should be a certification board, like those that go around to gas stations to make sure the pumps are giving you enough gas, to make sure that bars dont cut their bottles with water. Will someone hire me for that job?? Pros: Fun place Cons: Something shifty going on with the bottles of booze more

Great happy hour!! 6/9/2006

I go every Monday to get the amazing late happy hour prices and great music. Even at 11:30 at night, the food is all half off, and so are the drinks! A steel drum band is playing every Monday during the summer and they're fantastic. They switch off with a DJ who plays current hip hop tracks as well. Great atmosphere, hot people, cheap food and drinks!! more
