Good Spot 12/29/2005

Huntington Beach is famous for it's miles of sunny beaches, and this is one reason why. This is one of the nicest beaches in Southern California, and it is easy to see why. The sand is clean, and there is not a lot of debris in the sand or in the water. The surf is good, and you might even catch a beach volleyball game going on during the summer. Also, a great place to people watch. more

I love this beach 8/16/2005

Like all beaches, Huntington City Beach is off of Pacific Coast Highway. I love this beach because there are firepits that you can use to have a campfire. My friends and I used to go there during the cold nights and roast hotdogs, marshmellows, and just talk. I would recommend going there early to reserve a firepit because this beach is very popular. In terms of parking, it is best to park at the meters instead of paying for the flat-rate parking because you will end up paying much less than you would have otherwise. The beach is clean and should be great for the whole family. more

Great CA beach! 8/16/2005

I think this is a really nice beach. It's also a really popular beach so there are people everywhere, but it's great if you like to people watch because a lot of people there are ones that like to show themselves off. There's often events going on there too, so there's plenty to do. On Main Street at the Pier there is also shopping and restaurants. The water is usually pretty blue with good waves, but occassionally it won't be so clean, and a couple times I've gone there were jellyfish everywhere (the lifeguard said they were just "passing through" though, so I have no idea how long they'll be there). The sand is clean and soft and if you go out in the water it's not rocky and you can wade out pretty far. Parking is really expensive ($12) right on the beach, so I recommend if you are ok with a bit of a walk that you park in the neighborhoods just off of PCH (7th-10th streets is usually a good place to find free parking if you're going to the Pier). more
