The Best S-2000 Service! 2/16/2010

I am deeply grateful to the guys in the service department, especially Andrew Delph the service advisor. He has been so attentive to my needs and really understands how much I love my car. I have an S-2000. It is the love of my life and I often get very emotional when something happens to it or it needs servicing. He has been very caring over the years when I have had to bring in my car. Not too many men in the service department at car dealerships would understand this level of emotional attachment I have to my car. I only trust Howdy Honda with my car!! I am so grateful for all their amazing service. more

Purchasing my 07 Civic from Eden in 2007 just after the new location was opened was one of the best car purchasing experiences in my history of purchasing cars. Unfortunately, in Oct of 09, I returned to Howdy to ask Eden to sell me another Civic. I wanted to trade in my 07 for an 09 - the exact same car! The financing deal was great. Eden was no longer there and so I went with the salesperson named Kevin. I explained to him that I wanted the best deal possible, but fair to both of us. The "lowest that they could go" was higher than Gillman, First Texas, or the Conroe location. Still, I came back to him to give him a second chance - I wanted to be loyal to Howdy - still remembering my last experience. The story ends with me purchasing the car from First Texas. I was disappointed with Howdy. Evidently they don't appreciate returning customers. Pros: Nice facility with relatively good coffee Cons: Not loyal to customers, complete change of sales service more

Nope, Nope 10/14/2009

When you walk in a dealership and have to wait 45 min for the person you had an APPOINTMENT with... just walk out. had an appointment with Brad at 11 and it was 11:45 when he got to me.. He knew I had a 9 week old baby with me and I was in a hurry-I just wanted to look at the car and see if I liked it and have him do the rest with my signature and social and I would be back to sign and pick it up. I told him about a deal I was making at First Texas Honda and he began to bad mouth them.. Now, don't get me wrong we all do it.. BUT NOT TO CUSTOMERS. That put an awful taste in my mouth and I left. I went back to First Texas and bought my civic with nav for 20.4k. Which, Brad said that they wouldn't do at Howdy. more

Very Pleasant Experience 7/12/2009

We have gone multiple times here to test drive Hondas. We have found the sales persons to be quite helpful and they don't put a lot of pressure. We particularly enjoyed working with Tyler. He was a fun, informative and no pressure kind of guy. He was polite to us and professional even though we did not end up buying from him. Definitely, ask for him on your next visit to Howdy Honda. Pros: No pressure sales people more

Great Dealership! Ask for Derek! 9/20/2008

The dealership has moved to a new location and expanded hours of operation to better service customers. I just recently moved to Austin and by far it's the most beautiful dealership i've stepped foot inside. The new location is at 5519 E. Ben White Blvd (a little east of the old location) and the hours of operation are 8:30 M-F & 8:30-7 Sat. Good luck and best wishes! Pros: Gorgeous facility, Great deals, Courteous staff, Huge inventory Cons: N/A more

Let me start by saying that we bought our Odyssey from Howdy Honda based upon recommendations from this site. Maybe those recommendations were based upon experiences before the dealership moved. The buying experience in 2007 wasn't too bad. The year since then has been only oil changes, which @ $33 ea will stop after yesterday's experience. We've been delaying warranty service because they only provide a ride away from the dealership, not a pickup. Finally got the chance to get the van in for work- what a disappointment. The easy stuff: left grease prints on the windows and door sills. The heavy stuff, either lied, or didn't remember, until I furnished proof then they admitted problems and/or lack of knowledge. At one point, their tech asked me to train him. When we asked the salesman that handled the transaction last year to provide an independent opinion, and possibly provide some help in escalating the dealer's response to the problems, his initial reluctance transitioned to insults. One Honda dealer down. Pros: New building Cons: unskilled service. After inital sale, salesman insulting more

Friendly, Prompt, So Helpful! 3/20/2008

I didn't buy my Honda Pilot from Howdy Honda, but I will buy from them if possible in the future. I had the transmission go out on my 2003 Pilot and was so nervous it was going to cost me a pretty penny. I heard horror stories about places covering it at my amount of miles and other places not. I talked to so many consumors before taking my car in and had a bad feeling they were going to tell me it wasn't covered. However, their new location is so nice and clean. The employees were very personable and attentive. They didn't make any false promises and called me the next day to say it was 100% covered under warranty, no questions asked. They didn't just rebuild, they completely replaced my transmission and fixed all the little things that needed tweeking. I am so happy with Howdy Honda, I absolutely recomend their Service Department! Pros: Fast, Friendly, Effective Cons: Haha ... not in West Austin?? more

Loved them; now we hate them. 2/26/2008

We were so happy when we bought our Odyssey from them. But after a couple of months when the driver side air conditioning wasn't working, we brought the car in. They billed us a lot & replaced parts that didn't need to replace. When we called to ask them about it - they wouldn't call back. I called the manager & explained the problem - he promised to investigate and call us back - he didn't. We even called our beloved salesman who we bought the car from - he promised to investigate & get back to us... he didn't. I'm really angry. Three people there promised to call us & none of them did. And I've started going to the Honda place on 2222 for repairs... so far, we are happy. more

No quality control 10/31/2007

When I picked up my 2005 Honda Accord there was less than 1/2 tank of gas (a full tank was provided only with "new" car purchases). The next day I got first look at the car in daylight. That's when I saw my "certified" vehicle had no tread on the tires (would not pass state inspection). The same day, I look in the pouches behind the seat & find dozens of candy wrappers (with melted chocolate still there). Also found jewelry (ring) and other trash. Pulled down the back seat to get to trunk & found thousands of Xmas tree needles. I was also dismayed to find no key had been provided for the lug nuts, and had to buy this myself. When I received a survey from Howdy Honda, I described my concerns. Eventually, I received a call from sales manager Paul Wendell. I told him I didn't want anything from him, just wanted to let him know there were issues with the quality of their work. Mr. Wendell told me that he would "do whatever it takes to make you happy" and insisted they would provide new tires. He told me to get four tires from a local dealer, send him the invoice and he would reimburse me. I agreed. I went and got TWO new tires for the front wheels. In all honesty, while the back tires were worn, they still had enough tread. I also purchased the road hazard warranty. A week later I received a check that was $100 less than what I spent. Mr. Wendell told me that I was trying to "take advantage" of them by buying the hazard insurance and they would not pay for it. I obviously resented this personal attack - like I was trying to pull a fast one. I reminded him that if his staff had done the things they were supposed to have done in the first place, we wouldn't be having this conversation. He began raising his voice, and said he was not going to do anything more. Mr. Wendell failed to live up to his promise, lied to me, then insulted me. Anyone buying a car should AVOID going anywhere near Howdy Honda - they are rude, deceitful and sloppy in their quality control. Pros: New Dealership Cons: No quality control more

Amazing Customer Service 10/2/2007

I was really impressed with this dealership. The place felt very new and clean. The sales people were attentive without shoving a sale down your throat. As soon as i walked in, they offered me a variety of drinks and never kept me waiting. Brandon Tuerck was extremely helpful. When i didn't see the exact used car i wanted (i was very picky) , he kept me updated by email on new arrivals that fit my budget and had all the details in a Honda that i wanted. I highly recommend Brandon and this dealership. It was such a better experience than the other Honda dealerships i went to. Pros: No aggressive sales people! Cons: nothing more
