Historic House 7/17/2007

The red brick Georgian Colonial-style home at 3921 Yoakum Blvd.contains thirteen\r rooms on the first and second floors, and two rooms used as servant quarters in\r the attic. It was built in 1918 by the owner, Howard Hughes Sr. It's size, quality and\r location were in keeping with the founder of the Hughes Tool Company's growing stature as one of Houston's leading businessmen.\r The family moved in when Howard Hughes Jr. (Sonny) was twelve years old. His\r room was on the second floor facing North. This was to be his home untill he married\r at age 19 in 1925. The house was bought by the University of St. Thomas in 1953.\r more
